The Bayern players are all playing well, that's a good thing. Basti, Lahm, and Poldi was okay despite not scoring (although not really that great, but he did have a couple really nice long shots that barely went over, that left foot is amazing). Plus we all know what Ballack can do. And on other teams... Lucio might be the best CB in the world. Santa Cruz wasn't doing much though, and I'm a little scared about him comming back because he might not be up to the level to play in the Bundesliga and Champions League; Valdez was much better and he's third string on Werder I believe.

Anyone know how Ze played for Brazil? It would be nice if he could have a great swansong in Germany in the World Cup.

IMO today Ze Roberto was one of the best players on the field , he was the one in charge of recovering the ball and he did it very well. Shame he wont be in Bayern next season.

Think about it, when was the last time Bayern actually sold an important player? Christian Ziege comes to mind, sold in 98 to Milan for 5 million. That's the highest transfer fee we ever got for a player.

Can anyone blame Lucio for not denying the rumors? He's 28, it would be his last chance to play for Real Madrid. Surely he's interested.
Lahm is another case. Bayern is his favourite club and he repeatedly said he isn't going anywhere.

I think that’s a lot of money for a "normal" player like him, he is just not that great, i haven’t followed his career in Portugal, but i remember when he played for River Plate and he didn’t impress me. I prefer Camoranesi over “Lucho” anytime.

The Guardian says United have quoted a figure in excess of £15m to Bayern after receiving an official inquiry.

The Bundesliga champions are the first club to contact Old Trafford about the Holland striker but have been informed that Van Nistelrooy's dispute with Sir Alex Ferguson does not mean he will be allowed to leave cheaply.

Van Nistelrooy is resigned to being sold after Ferguson, currently on holiday in the south of France, confirmed to the club's hierarchy that the damage to their relationship was irreparable.

Philipp Lahm is not for sale, according to German club Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich have moved quickly to distance themselves from reports in the German media, which suggest that Lahm could be on his way to Chelsea.

Reports suggest that the German international could follow Michael Ballack to The Premiership with Champions Chelsea said to be interested in the attacking full back.

Chelsea's interest in Lahm was though to have cooled from earlier in the season, but his impressive display against Costa Rica has drawn attention to him again.

Lahm is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2009 and coach Felix Magath is unlikely to allow the left back to leave following the retirement of Bixente Lizarazu at the end of last season.

"Philipp is one of the most important players in our team after the loss of Lizarazu. He put in some good performances last season and is very much part of our future plans," Magath told the German press.

Chelsea wants to offer €14M :funny:

We could of had him last summer, why did we let him revive Hamburg!!!

And all of you were like "let's see how he adjusts to the Bundesliga and then it he's good we'll give Hamburg some peanuts and take him from them" but that's never going to happen now!

22 Million Euros for a 30 year old striker sounds like a lot of money to me. However it could really turn us into a Champions League contender if our replacement for Ballack is good (either from inside the team, or from elsewhere), so I guess I don't really know. I don't think we should do it unless we have someone willing to buy Makaay or Pizarro for a substantial amount of that price, maybe 12-15 Million Euros, then we can afford the risk in my opinion. We also should go out and find the best 17 or 18 year old german striker and bring him to the Amatures.

Us selling Lahm is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We've had him for exactly half a season. Before that he was injured and before that he was on a 2 year loan to Stuttgart. There's no chance that we'll sell him now, all that time and effort involved in making him a top left back and we're going to throw that away? Never.

I don't think Lucio wants to leave, isn't his family happy in Germany? I seem to remember seeing something about them really feeling at home in Munich.

About Lahm, why can't Chelsea look at other young left backs? Like Marcell Jansen, he's one for the future, why not go for him
