YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
:clapwap: :-(

It's a sad day for football, but I'll let Sir C put that into perspective, Because I know I won't be doing it much justice.

Take a bow Beckham, you're going out a champion.

I want to say what a great career he had, but quite frankly, he is better known for his off the field exploits than his quality on the field.

A good playing career but not a great one. The celebrity won't go away so soon though. Especially if PSG decide to push him to stay with the club in some other role.

Why don't you atleast try? What's stopping you from getting it done?

Thanks for the memories Golden Balls. Those sweet curling free kicks were always nice to watch.

^ agreed, absolute legend! I think everyone who played on the wing in the late 90s watched him to learn how to cross, and take freekicks ...

he faded slowly, but football will still miss Dave the player ... his marketability is going nowhere, though -- ambassadorship already suits him ...

Do you guys count Giggs and Phil Neville as part of the "Class of '92"? Because if not, they're all retired now. All the success they've had really speaks for itself.

Despite being an Arsenal fan, I've always liked Beckham. He conducts himself with a great deal of class most of the time and usually comes off as a gentleman. Yes, he's benefited from his sex appeal, but so have several other athletes down the years. He's been a great professional and a great teammate in addition to being a very serviceable player in a number of positions.

I didn't like the abuse he received, we don't get many like him.

Made me want to cry, what a legend, sad to see all them good ones go.. I can't even imagine someone from the future generations giving me the same emotion when retiring, but who knows.

He was a great professional, but one decision that I strongly disagree with was joining Los Angeles Galaxy in the US. He should have stayed in Europe. I blame his wife for that move.

He would have been a lock for EURO 2012. Quite honestly, he should have been captain from 2006 onwards.....Terry, Gerrard, Ferdinand, Lampard, etc. have been a joke wearing the captain's armband, by comparison. At the international level, none of them have leadership qualities that can hold a candle to Beckham.
