Okay so I think I've achieved it again, the ultimate gameplay tweak. If some of you don't know, i previously was able to "tweak" the gameplay of WE7/PES4 through this method:

Now i've done the same with WE8 and am playing on 6 stars, but it feels like 7. The best I can describe is the game just feels different. Attacks from the cpu are more diverse than ever and the star players really stand out ( i know WE8 made them stand out, but now you won't mistake Ailton for Henry or somewhere along those lines). I've seen some beautiful goals and gorgeous saves. I"m using Fullham and just edged into the 1st division at the moment i'm 3-3-2 in 8th place. Just had a huge win over the leaders Man Utd. with a late injury time goal by Alex ( picked up in Offseason). I arranged my preseason matches before to consist of Arsenal,Man Utd. and Real Madrid. Beat Arsenal and Man Utd. both by 1goal and lost 0-3 to Madrid.

If any of you are intersted in the option file feel free to e-mail me and if enough people want it I can find a place to host it. Also please feel free to try out this method by referring the posted thread. I'll post exactly what I put this time around ( macro-wise) when I get back to my comp. it's basically the same thing but I adjusted body balance for defenders as well as shot accuracy so we can see some beautiful volleys and such.

Thanks to Wolf and everyone else that contributed to the most recent patch to get me workin on this option file; it's made my week.

Goalies: Increase Response by 7--- This creates some very quick reflexes by all goalies to see some amazing knee jerk saves from point blank, it really improves the game in my opinion, very tough to score and very exciting.

Defenders: Increase aggression by 7. Now i was hesitant to do this as I thought that the game would end up being how it is on 5 stars with so much aggression hence leaving gaps open, that was not the case after testing this, the defenders go really hard to the ball just like in real life and there are much more hard tackles and the occasional injury. It is rather hard to pierce the defense with dribbling moves or passes towards the box, I've lost alot of games this master league 2nd season and I"m still in dvision 2,lol.

Midfielders: Increase aggression by 4. Not as easy to pass in the midfield as there will be a man on as soon as the ball is too receivers feet, can be very frustrating so you have to focus.

Attackers: Increase aggression by 2. Basic defending principle for attacking the ball carrier, a tad bit pressure on the defense coming out.

All Positions:

Increase Technique by 9: Skillful interplay created by the ai players to show some top skill seen in the leagues around the world. I've seen alot of new dribbling skills and passes by my opponents, more showing by teams skill level.

Increase Shot Technique by 7: Presents much more types of shots, I've seen bicycles, first time volleys, scissore kicks, many types and I might increase accuracy as most of these dont go in, but that percentage might be accurate as those kind of goals dont ofter go in in real life.

Increase Teamwork by 9 : I don't know exactly what this does but I guess it improves the teamwork, obviously, and consistency.

Does this hold true for PES4 / WE8? Would you make any new changes as a result of the new versions of the game? For example, goalies seem a bit too good - was the response tweak tested well with PES4? And are these tweaks designed for 4 star only?


Teamwork and agression are effective tweaks however, though how much seems difficult to judge. I may try 1 2 4 instead of 2 4 8, 2 response for keepers, teamwork 4,

Anyway, thanks for this as I just tried it and differnces in play are acute and obvious, and for me ver positive, but I need to find a balance more suited to me, it is definatley a good tweak, just the tweak needs tweaking a bit for me...

yeah, they have proven true in PES4 and WE8. For response on goalies I only increased 4. For defenders 6, mids ,att 8. Teamwork I added 12, aggression i added a low 3 because I dont want gaps left wide open. Glad you're trying it out, i'll be sending out opt files to email soon.
