i think are a lot of great derbies with a tremendous rivalry, in my opinion these are the best:

Internacional - Grémio (Porto Alegre - although these aren't the most well-know Brazilian clubs abroad, this rivalry is fantastic! It really reminds me of Benfica-Sporting. As I have Brazilian nationality as well as Portuguese, Internacional is my 2nd club... I can really draw a Benfica-Inter and Grémio-Sporting paralel, from their fanbase to their history.)

the Glasgow derby is overrated. Most of the games are pretty slow games and it's more the fans unbeleivable hatred towards each other that it's remembered for. Trust me an Edinburgh Derby between Hearts and Hibs is a million times faster.

ok i'll contribute by saying that while it's not exactly a derby in that they play in two different cities, the match that captures the imagination of most fans in the world is Barcelona v Real Madrid because of all the cultural and social reasons for the sheer hatred between the fans.
