1. France - What you say ? Nicolas Anelka
and Thiery Henry will ensure France's stay
at the top of the World heap. Forget about the fact that they haven't played well lately; EURO 2000 will re-establish who is
who in the world pecking order.

2. Brazil - Ronaldihno and Alex are the
future, but Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos,
and Ze Roberto will get it done for the time being.

3. Holland - Bergkamp and Kluivert are a
deadly duo. Davids is feisty, Van Der Saar is
the best.

4. Italy - The unlucky Italians should
have done better in the World Cup .

5. Germany - Though a program in flux at the moment, don't discount the Germans because of their disasterous Confederations Cup showing. Carsten Jancker and Oliver Bierhoff need to be the featured striking
tandem.

1st off Ronaldo & Bierhoff are WAY OVERRATED, Ronaldo hasn't played so long that he's forgot how to do it ,& Bierhoff is basically a wall that the ball hits & gets into goal, one thing he can do is head, but the rest, he can't dunno anything, havent u noticed tthat at milan, the team is playing briliantly with a real change on goal, & then comes Bierhoff & puts a pass into the crowd, he doesn't know to stop the ball either.....

Now the best team would be Italy, but they gotta play more offensive.

France,Germany crap, France won only because it was homecountry & Germany are in a freefall.

Holland are OK but should be way more wary.

Yugoslavia
Croatia
Ukraine

Now world wide a team worth mentioning is Argentina

i like england not only cause their way of playing but also cause my team never goes to a world cup or gets a good place in the copa america (i live in Venezuela). But the venezuelan team its getting a lot better.

They are and have always be a great team.
There are still great new players in Holland
that you have never heard of.
Therefor I think that Holland is one of the best
, if not the best, team in Europe.
Holland is always tortured by bad luck.

HOLLAND or NETHERLANDS ITS THE BEST EUROPEAN TEAM!!!

Well, in theory they should be the best team.
However, this evening they played a friendly
match against Danmark.
They sucked, bigtime.
I don't know why but they were really bad.
Rasulting in a final score of 0-0.
Danmark had the better of the play, they deserved
to win.
Since Franklin Rijkaard became the team coach
everything is going downhill.
I am having trouble to believe that they will
win Euro 2000.

I'll let you guys figure out who the best team in the world is...but I must say that, to me, Holland is definitely the most TALENTED team. They boast names such as Van der Sar, Stam, F. de Boer, R. de Boer, Seedorf, Davids, Cocu, Zenden, Van Hooijdonk, Hasselbaink, Bergkamp, Overmars, Kluivert, Reiziger...pick any 11 and you definitely have THE MOST TALENTED team out there... However I must say that Brazil has definitely got to be the best team (just for the record, I hate Brazil, and France too for that matter).

France I do not hate, Brazil however I do hate.
They always proclaim that they play the most attractive football in the world.
I don't agree, with players like Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Romario, etc, etc.
they are obligated to play more offensive then the 4-4-2 system that they play.
It seems that every national team likes defending better then attacking.
What happened to 4-3-3, or 3-4-3.
It's truly a shame to football in whole that the teams play defensive strategy's
rather then offensive.

France got a chance to be out ot Euro championship. If Ukraine will kick their ass and Russia will kick Ukrainians, and remained games they will win, it'll be the miracle.
Russia won the game in Paris 3:2, but lost in Moscow befor 2:3.
Ukraine tied 0:0 in Paris. And now they have all chances.

holland realistically has the best players but they will never win anything because they do not play the team game. yugoslavia has the second best players but they are no the best team.
france sucks and it was all fixed for them to win over brazil. i hope my brothers russians and ukranians work together to kick them out of the euro 2000, to show them how much they suck.

The best national team is NONE!!!
Because, each national team has its own strong and weak points. For example, Brazilian Defence is the worst, while the forwards are the best. Argenina has good midfielders and wings but slow defence and strikers, and a heavy rock singer goalkeeper. Italy has very very good defence, but very very poor offence. Holland has nice central midfielders and nice strikers but not one of the best because the "dynamic duo" play inconsistently, which means they play well whenever they feel like to. France? they are all just ABOVE AVERAGE players compared with other national team's players except Blanc, Zidane and anelka.

Yes, that is the best answer anyone could give. Although his joke is actually a reality. Since U.S. Soccer hired Bruce Arena to replace Steve Sampson as coach, the team has played better than they did at France '98. As far as them being the best? I'm American, and I know the teams in Europe are WAY better than the Stars & Stripes.
