I will have to say final destination 3, thats the installment that destroyed the series, 1 and 2 wer both good.

It's funny that somebody opens a thread about this today. I went to Blockbuster earlier to rent a couple of movies and I found myself saddened by the amount of utter crap they had on their shelves. For every good movie that comes out, there are 50 that are just horrible.

I ended up with No Country For Old Men (blu-ray) and Spiderman 3 which surprisingly they didn't carry in blu-ray (wtf?).

NCfoM I had already seen, so that should tell you something about the selection I was working with.

Thank God for the new series!

Personally I thought the worst films I've ever seen were "Showgirls" - how in the hell did it manage to make 90 minutes of nubile nude women into something that wasn't even remotely sexy? (plot missing along with acting) How in the hell was this directed by the genius that gave us "Robocop"?

And "Dude, Where's my Car" I almost left the cinema, but my brain had melted.

And perhaps most disappointing of all, as I was raised on the original series:

Thunderbirds. A movie that promised epic special effects and huge possibilities was relegated to "Spykids 2.5"

If ever I meet Jonathan Frakes - I'll probably kill him.

biggest bust had to be that Eddie Murphy space movie... something Pluto Nash? haha, $100M budget, $20M marketing, and it made less than $10M worldwide.

worst movie ever... jeez, seen a lot of them lately. The Night Listener, The Happening, Dude Where's My Car... a lot more I cant remember, including Batman & Robin

newbie original

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long
Yellow Card
Tara Reid's movie right after American Pie: Dr. T and the Women. It had an allstar cast(Richard Gere as Dr. Sullivan Travis, or "Dr. T", and "the women" included Kate Hudson, Helen Hunt, Farrah Fawcett, Tara Reid, Liv Tyler and two others) but it only recovered 14 of the 43 million USD it took to make it.

Just a couple:

Taxi (2005)

Dungeons and Dragons

Stealth

The Happening

But there are many many more.

I would think a movie has to have a certain level of expectations in order to be labeled a bust. Anyone who isn't ******* high off his rocker obviously knew Dude Where's My Car is one step above watching two dogs go at it. If for any reason you had expectations for the previously stated movie, you do not deserve to post in this thread. Same goes for The ******* Happening. This is the same man that made Signs. Signs. Read that back to yourself, and it will suddenly hit you. Rony had the best one with Pluto Nash I think... Batman and Robin have to be up there simply because of the Batman label.

If we're putting personal busts then I guess all movies apply... everyone has different tastes.

Edit - didn't see Stealth posted... that one would count.

Superman
nah, Snakes on a Plane was cheap and the internet world knew/was excited about it. the same happened to Serenity.

Alexander was killed at the box office and cost a lot. same for Basic Instincs 2 which also sucked a lot, and Catwoman. Judge Dread is another example of a bust though I think I liked it.

and btw, I LOVE Dude, Where's My Car?. been waiting for a sequel forever. Seriously Dude, Where's My Car? :p

Why are people hating on Dude Where's My Car? That s*it was hilarious.

Scarface was a bust, it made like no money when it came out but look at the cultural influence it has on us today.

it's an underground cult classic... a'la dazed and confused, super troopers... etc

however, to label any of those movies as busts or anything else is just... wrong. they're all hillarious and good time killers. would not plan a night around them though. unless it included heavy drinking/drug use. none of them did great at box office, nor made great impressions on critics. we all know none of those things matter for **** anyway.

*disclaimer - all of these movies are awesome. I have personally watched super troopers 23 times and would recommend it to anyone. Sequel coming out too :D

The Alamo was a gigantic bust.

As for worst movie I've seen, I'd like to think that my taste in film is superior to most other people so there are not too many which I think just straight up sucked. However I guess Epic Movie was the worst film I've ever paid to see....don't ask why. The two films I saw coming in with great expectations only to be slapped down with crap on a screen were Austin Powers in Goldmember and Daredevil.
