Boycott pay features of CM08

If you haven't heard some features of CM08 will be available by shareware only. This means you would actually have to pay to edit your game. I have previously suggested Boycotting all pay features and suggested staying with 07 or using CC or just using the free features offered.

The point of the boycott is to ensure that Rinaldo makes absolutely no money for his products. There is cause to question the legality of pay-to-edit software but more importantly, we need to decide as a community that we won't be exploited. Next, kit makers will be releasing their kits requiring payment and we need to nip this idea in the butt quickly to avoid that problem entirely.

Please vote YES to support the boycott of all pay features and post below if you choose. If you decide to pay to edit I hope you understand that this is only the first step. Giving Rinaldo money gives him far too much power and control over us and I refuse to be a part of it.

I boycott too. I am not too stupid to create for free in order to make material proper to be used by any extorter and cheater! leave the community open to any project! I suggest to be patient and this year play fifa 08 as released by EA and keep in our pc improved older editions. cheers!

well, tell us exactly now WHICH features will be for free!!!! Master did not say ANYTHING about them (Why guys???). Or u know some details of his aims more than we do???

Rinaldo hasn't stated which parts of FIFA Master will require payment. The idea is to boycott ANY pay-to-edit software.

I have no clue why we can't see the poll. Perhaps I had a few too many before I started typing.

I'm behind you also, why would anyone make money for making software for editing a game that someone else made, everybody here makes something for the game and for others, and nobody has even thought to take advantage of that, if you feel that you are not rewarded for your effort simply don't make the program! People do everything for money! Well i ain't gonna use it now even if it ends up being free!

I'm not voting yet, all will depend on the implementation, the price and the difference between paid and freeware versions of the tool.

But consider this : If a creator invests money in a program to be able to continue making his/her creations, wouldn't it be normal to ask also for a (paying) contribution to regain the money invested?

In other words, we're on dangerous terrain, the economic world financial market is about to hit the Fifa community? Well maybe not that serious, but it's just around the corner anyhow.

Of course you have to consider the time investment by the creator of the editing tools, this is time that can't be invested otherwise in making money. The idea of releasing patches free of charge but with a "Paypal donation" button included has already traversed my own mind more than a year ago, I was at the time unemployed and I had a difficult time financialy to support my family, so making money was a priority back then, any way it could.

Of course, on the other hand when you start exclusively making software-patches-games -whatever for financial gain, the passion is put aside and it becomes just another boring job.

Oh well, we'll see what happens.

i think you people are taking this too seriously, i mean rinaldo is not the only person to come out with such tools, he may be the only one in this community but for those of us who speak other languages i think we all know that there are plenty of other toolmakers and such out there. So that if rinaldo does decide that we have to pay for the must have features then im sure someone else out there will produce something that is free. He is not the only person who can do some programming you know.

What are you talking about ??????? Editing a game like Fifa is a HOBBY not a job ! If you want to get paid for it you have to work for EA... you have to emigrate to Canada ..period.
Editing is a hobby which is time consuming but it's your own choice, the problem is that once you have begun it's hard to stop...
There are some people here who are between 30 & 50 of age, with family and kids and it can be sometimes frustating to do hours of editing just for nuts...but once again nobody forces you to do it
I think Rinaldo is in a frustrating time where he asks himself why he' s doing CM...So many hours for what...it can lead to personnal conflicts ...it's up to him to decide whether he stay or not but getting paid for that is not the solution...
I have been a tester for CM and Chau's CC but I will not give one cent for those programs because I have already spent many many hours testing those tools...
