Databasemaster 07 works with fifa.db for the fifa08, so for the time being i'll edit fifa database with this tool until cc08 comes out

Editing a game like Fifa is a HOBBY not a job
Which makes what difference exactly?? There are plenty of folk who make money from the hobbies of others, whether computer-related or otherwise. The simple equation here is that Rinaldo is quite within his rights to choose to request a fee for his work and you then have the simple choice of whether to pay what he is asking or not use what he produces. Doesn't seem particularly complicated to me, and I really don't understand why it has generated so much unpleasantness.

If someone wants to generate money from a program that edits a program made by another software company, in this case EA, said person needs to obtain an authorisation and/or license from said company, it's even in the EULA.

And don't be mistaken, EA is a big if not the biggest company in the gaming industry, and they have plenty of suits aka lawyers that rub their hands in advance on an easy case, that is also not complicated to understand. The villa with pool can instantly be transformed in a trashbin in a back alley if those sharks put their teeth in it.

All it takes one EA employee to find out about it, to make them aware of someone making money on their backs to set the machine "en route".

Many of you arguing in favor of Rinaldo on this thread need to reread the title... I'm gaining support to boycott the PAY features only. He can lock up many features if he wants to, I want to know who is in support of refusing to buy any pay-to-edit programs or applications for FIFA games.

I also don't want to see him get sued for his work... That is the most likely result from this decision. It's EA's product and without FIFA 08, CM08 has no use and will not function as an independant program.

Use CM08 if you want. Rinaldo can take his chances earning money off this idea. What I'm asking for is support to boycott any PAY features.

Rinaldo has to decide if he wants to continue producing the Creation Master. If he doesn't I think he needs to quit now (early) so we can figure out what we plan to do about it.

top scenario: 200.000 downloads X 14 Euros (15 bucks) = 2.800.000 for Rinaldo.
medium scenario: 100.000 dnls X 14 Euros = 1.400.000 for Rinaldo
minimum scenario: 10.000 X 14 Euros=140000.
what do u think????
I used no 200.000 because this was the number of downloading his program past year, but this is not the point, u can put any other kind of estimations to make ur orinion!

CM does not 'edit a program' it merely edits data files. If your position was accurate then MS would be all over the Open Office folks (to give just one example)

Is there one with FIFA 08, because I was never able to find one for FIFA 07, even at installation time nothing was displayed.

But the discussion has moved on from your original intention (possibly not helped by the non-existence of a poll on the thread) and since most of the posts against 'pay for edit' go well beyond 'I support your idea' it would seem perfectly reasonable for others to espouse the opposite viewpoint too (and to declare my own position, I have no particular interest either way - I don't edit my FIFA games, and have no intention of ever requesting payment for my own programs)

I really think that in light of all this debate that the Pay-Pal donation is the way to go. On one hand you've got the author rinaldo, wanting to make some profits from his hard labour, and some users who are willing to comply which is fair enough; but on the other hand, the majority of users are unable to pay compulsory liscencing fees in order to unlock those extra features. Despite the claims of those who can pay, saying, tough luck go and pay anyway, this is not feasible. Thus there would undoubtedly be a limit on the number of downloads compared to the 200,000 from CM07, as the number of users who downloaded a program for free wont be able to do so thru online banking so to say. So for those that can pay, they are still able to thru donating on Pay-Pal, and deservedly so for such programs as Rinaldo has developed. But obliging the thousands of users who can't just locks them out of the ever-increasing possibilities of FIFA-editing, something that would be terrible to bear witness to.

Pay Pal Donation. End of the discussion. Rinaldo you sneaky greedy but also a very good tool releaser, you have us by the balls this time cause Fifa 08 for PC suck so bad that I'm willing to pay you just for removing it of my computer

P.S. Le Chau save us from this evil dude :borat:

P.S.2 Fifa 08 sucked so hard that I prefer to be sucked by a Rwanda hooker who just have pleased all the militia (Insert "No racism" adboard here)
