I've just bought a gamepad for making the game better since I've been bored for some time.

It's really funny but it doesn't really work as I want it to.
Right now I can use it, but not as my first control as pes crashes when I try to enter button configuration in the Options menu.

I would appreciate your help alot!

use the setting.exe file in your pes folder

I was unable to set up all the buttons of my gamepad in options ingame but I could force them in settings.exe under buttons config section; I'm not sure but it was a gamepad issue, I bought a better one and it works in game options as well

I see that happening in some patches(The game crashes when you enter the button configuration menu).........
But as Mayor said you can configure the controllers with C:/Program Files/KONAMI/Pro Evolution Soccer 5/Settings.exe

Something similar happens to my cousin's computer(At both PES4 and PES5).When he wants to configure the Keyboard's buttons,he clicks as everyone does one the button he wants to configure.But all he gets is a <?> and no configuration!
However by configuring the buttons with Settings.exe no problems.
(I know this was a little off-topic but has to do with button configuration)

Back to topic,as I said,this occurs in some patches.If you don't use any patches,it is only a strange bug I think.I don't think it has to do with your Controller.

its not controller depending, its a program bug as it was said with some patches.
one of them is the superpatch, crashes out to desktop immediately. stock pes5 is okay, powerpatch too and world cup patch too.
