CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 $303
RAM - 2 X 1 Gig A-Data 800 $169

Gigabyte DS3 is probably the most popular board, so you can't go wrong there especially at that price, has the features of a motherboard of £160-250.

I'd go for the new P35 version and although the BIOS might need maturing as with all new motherboards, you'll be future-proofed for Intel's Penryn (Wolfdale/Yorkfield) processor due out in a few months time and Nehalem which come next year.

The spec is pretty much spot on for high-end gaming, but if you plan on playing at 1600x1200 or beyond with max settings, then I'd go for the 640Mb GTS. In the UK they can be had for £215-225 ($544 AUD) brand new, which is not much more than the 320Mb, £40 difference at most, still both are great cards and you'll be well happy with whichever one you get.

What about the power-supply?

A really good psu... yeah

Also... if i were you i'd get a E6320 instead and add the CPU saved money on memory, coz that way i think you'll be able to o/c a lot better, and eventually beating the 6600+avgmemory combo with 6320+betterRam
Or at least get the 6320 and upgrade with a much better cpu later on since this mobo like shokz said will support new models with new bios

one last thing, just get a westerndigital hd.. :D

Not that thermaltake is bad but id rather go for Enermax/Tagan/Seasonic. I remember reading about Thermaltake PSUs with rail stability issues
