i`ve been through a ton of tutorials and still have no clue, i only know how to edit the textures in the select.bin file but not in the main isspro2.bin file.

thanks but i still cant find the colours and could you explain to me how i`m supposed to use cluted to edit the colours (i thought that was just for kits)?

within Cluted, use the option 'Extract Clut from file'

this will prompt for a file (select your iso), the starting offset (use the offsets given by Cymong to work out the position of data for the flag you wish to edit) and number of colours - select 16.

If you do this for Eire, you will see that the first 6 colours visible in Cluted represent the 3 main colours - green, white and orange - of the flag. Change these, inject the Clut back into the iso, then run the iso using an emulator to see the impact of the changes.

The best way to see what the 16 colours that make up the flag are for is to experiment. From memory, but I can't be sure, colours 7 and 8 are thin lines that border the main vertical bars and if you set the next few colours to something other than the colour of the central vertical stripe you get a logo on this stripe similar to Cameroon

Bear in mind though that the texture of the flag affects how the colours are used - Eire has 3 vertical stripes so the info I've given above applies to this particular texture. Again experimentation is the key - for example, use the info in the tutorial to change the texture of the Eire flag and see what happens.

Hope this helps - if not post again and I'll try and help

(Cymong - please add to this if I've missed anything crucial or I've made a mistake)

No seems OK

No what youve said pretty much covers it .

One easy way to edit colour of flags is to open 256 colours in Cluted, this will give you 16 teams, the first line is the first team, second line is your second team etc. If you know that the first team is Eire and they have green, white and orange stripes, simply do a copy of that line (i.e select by clicking first colour hold shift click last colour on row), paste over the line you want to replace, then replace each colour with the one you want. The slight shading differences give that "chiselled" look to the flags, I dont like it so replace it with all one colour.

ok, the info given in this post should provide you with the info you need but maybe i think that because I've used this stuff and it's familiar.

can you take us through step by step what you've done so far so i can try and point you in the right direction.

start with how you create your copy of the isspro cd (do you use CDRWin or Blindread etc), which editor do you use, which file(s) are you editting, do you run the editted iso file using an emulator or burn back to CD etc

i created the iso using cdrwin, i use "free hex editor" to edit the iso i created and i then run the iso using epsxe

ok - you now need to get Cluted from the web

zburgy.free.fr/Edit/outils.htm

the site is French but it's fairly easy to work out what's what - there is also a tutorial on the site and some patches

open the iso using fhred - use open partially from decimal offset 12532538 and load about 40000 bytes

you should see the following

<bh:c3><bh:8d><bh:82><bh:89><bh:bd><bh:f7><bh:18><bh:e3>Y<bh:8e><bh:f6><bh:8d><bh:cb><bh:ae><bh:dc><bh:8e><bh:bd><bh:f7><bh:bd><bh:f7><bh:bd><bh:f7><bh:bd><bh:f7><bh:00><bh:80><bh:00><bh:80><bh:00><bh:80><bh:00><bh:00>
(ignoring the < > and bh: - this is how fhred indicates hex - alternatively copy this complete sequence and do a hex search with fhred)

this hex string is for Eire, the next 32 bytes are for Northern Ireland etc.

Ok, that's how to find the colours in the iso.

Using Cluted - do file, extract CLUT from file, select your iso, offset is 12532538 for Eire and number of colours is 16 (2 bytes per colour), change the colours using the sliders at the bottom, and then do file, inject CLUT into file, select the iso again, key in the offset again etc

this will change the Eire flag

I have a spreadsheet containing the offset for each country - i can email it to you if you want

hope this helps (please excuse any repetition in the explanation) post again if this is unclear)

I might set up a web page where we could collect all this info and put it in one place...

web page is a good idea but there is the ISS Extreme site that cymong is involved with - this has loads of info

cy - see above - would it be possible to make my spreadsheet with the flag offsets available on Iss Extreme - if yes, let me know and I'll tidy it up to cover all teams - john
