I hope you guys can help me!
I entered my 7th season in career mode where I went from 5th division to finally 1st division (Bundesliga, using the EEP patch). But now that I'm in 1st division the game crashes as soon as I want to enter my squad or formations (or want to play a match). The reason appears to be a youth player that was generated on my squad (I can see him in the squad report), some Nigerian player that is 17 years old. I did not sign this player nor do I even have a youth academy or youth scouting going on!!
And no matter how often I go back to some of my old savegames from the previous season (no youth players on my squad there), once I enter into the new season I get one youth player assigned that I did not contract or scouted for or whatever. And that's when the crashes occur! (And no, these players do not have a same last name as my other players - I'm aware that there have been posts about this causing crashes too)
This really bugs me because I have not find a solution yet. In the squad report I have 3 options when I click on the youth player: put on loan (short), put on loan (long) and release from contract. If I click the first two options nothing happens and when I click on release he becomes a free agent. I can find him in seach too (as a free agent) but the problem is that he also still shows up in my squad! So it still crashes! I can release him from contract again and again without any change. And I cannot officially sign him as a free agent because it says 'all contact attempts have been blocked' (not exact wording, I'm translating from German). Even when I simulate through to the winter transfer period (simulation is the only thing that works) I cannot sign him then. And nobody appears to be interested in him and buys him. So what can I do?
I've been going through the DLC files because I'm thinking that somewhere in there you can change the way Fifa generates these youth players. So far I have edited (and then regenerated with File Master or CM) the following files: cmsettings.ini, playercontract.ini, playerretirement.ini and scout.ini on lines where I though it might have to do with the problem. For instance, I deactivated Youthmanager in cmsettings (1-->0) or in playerretirement I changed BACK_FILL_TEAM_SIZE (as youth player generation seems to be connected to players retiring) from 35 to 25 and so on. Or I decreased TARGET_YOUNG_POPULATION from 4250 to let's say 3000. I do have minimum retirement age set a lot higher (40) and that has been working just fine. (Though I still get players wanting to retire at 29?? But it is far less than before) However, after making such changes and reentering saves from the previous season and then proceeding to the next season I still have this annoying youth player pop up! Drives me nuts!
Do you have any adivise or suggestons? Surely there must have been some solutions appear over the years.?
p.s.: I do not have anything against youth players and this supply of new players into the game is actually a good thing. But I just want to continue my career! So whatever the fix is, either with or without own youth players would be fine with me.
