thank you pippo_sheva...

well i've finished out the season, with: win, win, draw, win. the draw was because i played mainly reserves to rest my starters for the LDV Vans Final, which i won 2-2 (8-7 PK :rockman: ). after this, i had one more game, in which i played all my best players, and won 6-0 over Boston. Odijaye had the first 4 goals, Guinan had the next, and my captain defender Morales scored the 6th. a perfect way to end a great season (which took me all of 3 days to finish)

i ended up with a 1 star rating, and got Cheltenham Town promoted, and stuck with them.

Carreer update:

After a year with Dundee (5th place+Scottish FA Cup) I went to Nottingham. In the first year we got promoted (2nd place) and lost the League Cup final against Chelsea. Next year Forest finished 5th.

Then I changed to Atlético Madrid. In my first year I won the league (10 pts clear before Barcelona) and the cup (final: 2-0 against Valencia). In the current season I won the Supercopa (2-0 against Barcelona), I'm chasing Depor in the championship (after 26 rounds I'm a point behind, with 17-7-2, but already played Depor twice so I have to wait for a mistake by them...), knocked out from the Cup by Salamanca (0-1, I simmed the game), and I'm in the QF of Champions League. In the CL I won my group with 3-3-0 before Lazio, Austria Magna and Auxerre, then knocked out Galatasaray (2-1 home, 2-2 away) in the last 16.

i will hopefully get to 2 stars, but i'm pretty sure i'm going to stay with Cheltenham Town for a while.

right now, i'm 7 games into the season of Football League One, with a record of 4-3-0 (15 points). Only Blackpool is ahead of me, with 16 points, (5-1-1).

The most interesting match so far came in the first League Cup match, versus Hull City, in which 4 different players scored for each team. Only Odijayi and Elliot scored twice. It was 4-3 with much of stoppage time already played, when Odejayi broke into the box after a brilliant first touch nutmeg, and shot. But before he could get it off, he was tackled hard from behind, resulting in a yellow card and a penalty, which Damien Spencer converted down the middle of the net. Odejayi, my top goal scorer, was injured on the play just seconds from overtime, so I was forced to bring in Luke Corbett as his replacement, and I switched Damien Spencer as the frontman of my three forwards, with Corbett taking the right side instead. Full time blew just seconds later, and it was obvious that the crowd at Hull City was not happy. Nothing special happened in the first period of extra time, spare a flourish of chances for Hull that they failed to convert, thanks to 4 brilliant saves from Higgs. These four saves happened within 3 minutes of each other. After a long clearance, the first extra time ended and the second began, with the crowd roaring for their Hull City side. The ball was stuck in the midfield for the majority of the time, until a few great through balls put Cheltenham Town's left striker Murphy, through on goal. He drew out the keeper and cleanly slotted it under him, and into the back of the net! Only 5 minutes remained and Cheltenham Town had silenced the home crowd completely. With two minutes to go, Damien Spencer almost buried Hull with a scorcher from 25 yards out that had eyes for the top corner, but the keeper came up with an excellent save, and the defender cleared the ball first time all the way to half field, where the ball was settled without contest by Hull's Stuart Elliot. He pushed forward immediately, desperate to score the equalizer, and dribbled with great skill around one defender at 25 yards distance from the net. He continued, but was stopped with a good tackle just inside the 18 yard box. The defender, Morales, tackled well without going to the ground, and cleared the ball to safety. The whistle blows. I drop my controller in celebration, and let out my breath which seemed to be held for the entire game. The ref points to the spot? What? The replay shows a perfectly clean tackle, where Morales got all of the ball, and Elliot simply tripped due to his momentum, yet the referee had deemed it illegal. I scrambled for my controller, and picked it up just as Elliot whipped in a shot to his right. Higgs dove the right way, but the ball was brilliantly placed in the lower corner, and Higgs dove right over it. 5-5. The game restarts, then the whistle blows, THIS TIME to signalize the end of extra time. Penalties it is. Cheltenham Town was to shoot first. Goal. Hull City: SAVE! Cheltenham Town: Goal. Hull City: Goal. Cheltenham Town: Save. Hull City: Goal. All level at two. Cheltenham Town: Goal. Hull City: Save. All Morales has to do is score here and he wins the match for Cheltenham Town. SAVE! Hull City has one last chance to level out. It's a goal. Extra kicks. Cheltenham Town: Goal. Hull City: Goal. Cheltenham Town: Goal. Hull City: Goal. Cheltenham Town: Save. Hull City: Miss. Cheltenham Town: Goal. Hull City: Goal. Cheltenham Town: Save. Hull City: Save. Now it's the eleventh round of kicks, and my keeper, Higgs, stepped to the line. Higgs shoots to his right, but it's saved. Now Hull City's keeper, who had been a hero in the game despite allowing five goals, steps up. His line of heroism continued, as he struck the ball brilliantly into the top left corner, while Higgs dove to the right. Cheltenham Town's hopes of a League Cup were crushed by a goalkeeper. While my job security only went down 3 points, the real negative was the lowered morale of every player on my side. Players who were once incredibly happy were now indifferent to the team. This was the second time in two years that Cheltenham Town had been eliminated from a cup in extra rounds of penalties, the last time against Fulham. The change in morale was evident in the next two league games, both of which were drawn 0-0. On top of that, my captain and most prolific scorer, Odijayi, was injured. Luckily, it only held him out for the two games after the loss to Hull, but his absence was well-noticed as they were the first and second times that Cheltenham Town had been held to no goals since the first three matches of the first season.

Wow... that was quite the write-up. I didn't realize how long it was until I saw it on the page.

"Yes, Very nice Simeone is getting old though ay ? "

Yes, but he did quite a solid job when he played ;)

Carreer update:

I managed to win the Champions League with Atlético.

Road to the final (knockout stage)

Galatasaray 2-1 (home), 2-2 (away)
PSV 2-2 (away), 3-0 (home)
Lyon 4-1 (away), 1-2 (home, my only home defeat in the whole season)

In the final I met Lilleström (how on Earth could Lilleström do a CL-finals?!
:kader: ). I was 2-0 up half time (Goals: Ibagaza, F. Torres), and I had the whole of the game. In the second half the Norwegians came back and equalised, but fortunately after a corner Robinho headed the winner.

The Spanish championship was a thriller: with 3 rounds to go, I was 2 points behind Depor.

Round 36: Huelva - Depor 0-5
Villarreal - Atlético Madrid 3-4 (I came back from 1-3 in the last 20 minutes...)

1. Depor 80pts
2. Atlético 78 pts

Round 37: Betis - Depor 0-0
Valencia - Atlético Madrid 2-2
1. Depor 81pts
2. Atlético 79pts

Round 38: Depor - Valencia 0-2 (big thanks to Valencia! :) )
Atlético Madrid - Sevilla 4-3 (I know I had to win, and it was one of the craziest matches I've seen: 1-0,1-2,3-2,3-3, and in the 85th minute Fernando Torres scored the winner)

Final standings:
1. Atlético 82pts
2. Depor 81pts

After Atlético, I chose Inter. The squad is quite experienced (or you can say, aging), but most players I wanted to buy were not very willing to come.

So I bought some young talents for the bench instead...

Transfers in:

Oddo (RB, Atl. Madrid)
Iaquinta (ST, Udinese)
Eliakwu (ST, Ascoli, he's an Inter player loaned to Ascoli IRL)
Felipe (CB, Flamengo)
Abbate (CB, Piacenza)
Ledesma (CAM, River Plate)
Coelho (RWB, Corinthians)
Guardalben (GK, Messina)

Transfers out:
Krstajic (the replacement of Mihajlovic) - Fiorentina
Karagounis - Fiorentina
Choutos - Lecce
Davids - West Brom
Recoba - Sevilla
Cruz - Udinese
Coco - Parma

Planned transfers:
GK: Frey (Parma) or Júlio Cesar (Flamengo)
CB: Ferrari (Roma)
LB: don't know yet
RM: Mascherano (River)
CM: don't know yet, but somebody under-23

Starting 11:

Toldo
---
Oddo
Burdisso
Córdoba
J. Zanetti
---
Van der Meyde
Stankovic
Verón
Emre
---
Adriano
Martins

So far 5-1-1 in the league (drawn Atalanta, lost to Roma), 2-0-0 in the UEFA Cup (4-0 Salzburg, 3-1 Celtic).

The aim is to win the Serie A and the UEFA Cup.
