Career Mode 2005 Thread

last career update for a while
finished my third season with Mallorca in the Spanish League in a tough race against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia.....
There were no good options out there so I decided it is time to focus on Man Utd as it was my original goal for my carreer mode.
Season 4- Manchester United
Out-
1. Scholes- Celtic, I never liked Scholes he didnt seem to fit into my ideal Man U team.
2. Saha- Barcelona, I hate Saha I dont know why I just hate Saha
3. Roy Carroll- New Castle, Old Old Old
4. Fortune- Old and Always was a second teamer.
5. Kleberson- Bayer Dortmund, Ineffective that is all I have to say
6. Djemba- I also never liked him
7. Miller- Lands (Swedish) never liked
8. Martinez (Goalie)- Aston Villa, dont need him
In-
1. Fabregas- Arsenal, for the Future and he will develop quite nicely in my second team.
2. Baumgaurt- Bayern Munich, Oliver Kahn's replacement, definately gonna be a house.
3. Micheal Del Piero- Intermilan, star power
4. Trezequet- Juve, Dont know why but I like him
5. Ronaldhino- Barcelona, wanted Guily, Totti, Kaka or Cole but they all rejected and surprisely he accepted, so he will move onto the LM role when Giggs retires and I will attempt to bring in Cole next season.
6. Van Der Vaart- Ajax, Like him cause he is effective.
Future Goals-
1. Joe Cole
2. Partoneu, Pires replacement that I brought to Mallorca he helped me win the Primera Liga and will prove to be effective to be in the future.
3. Defense and a backup Goalie when Howard retires.
4. Selling Bellion, he has to go dont fit the scheme.

ManUtd bought Saha because they could, and they didn't want Fulham to have him anymore. Ferguson is a punk, and his team reflects his personality. Just look at Rooney's disrespectful celebration when he scored on Saturday at Anfield. Someone from the Kop threw a cell phone at him...but he's got to expect it if he's going to do BS like that.

Some of you guys know me...I've done some roster updating for 2004 and '02...so I thought I'd weigh in...first of all...I'm loving the career mode...also the tournament mode is allowing me to play a Euro Cup with national teams and a Champions League with some of my favorite teams.
I'm currently in my third season...moved this year to Hamburg...spent the previous two seasons with Aberdeen. Won the SPL my first season...wasn't impressed with my offers after year one..so I stayed in Aberdeen...did the triple...league, cup and ECC. I played a 4-3-1-2 set and my CAM...Derek Adams...scored 48 goals in 50 appearances. Saved my pennies, off loaded some some older and younger dudes and was able to buy guys Lee Makel and some 60-something mid fielders that helped out. But I got my best buys in MLS. Got RM Carlos Jewsbury from New England...about 66 rating...at January of first season...then sold a few old players just before end of January in my second year, and picked up Josh Wolfe, the young American striker who plays for Kansas City (81 rating). Was Beckham-like on free kicks...scored 16 goals in 21 appearances...and got the winner in the 2-1 win over Lyon in the ECC championship game.
I've found that MLS players are good buys for teams that are coming up through the ranks in the lower European Leagues. They're fairly cheap...rated pretty highly (maybe overrated?)...and usually don't turn you down even though your management prestige is not that good.
After second year with Aberdeen...I had several offers in EPL...but places like Bolton, and Manchester City, Portsmouth, etc., so I decided on Hamburg...pretty solid club...and I wanted to play in an arena that is in the game...and I'm having a blast. Bought a couple of my "Heroes of Pittodrie" to come over the pond with me...Scott Severin...who has improved to a 78 rating despite nearing 30...and the goalie, Preece. Tried to sign Landon Donovan before the start of the season...but he told me to kiss off (cheeky kid!), and I have to wait before I can move Wolfe over here. I did sign a defender, Lee Wilkie from Dundee (79 rated C

Yeah they still train and stuff and yeah it's because they're young they keep developing. 
Nice X-man I'm assuming your at about 2 and a half star, if that you should be getting offers from Bayern, Bayer, pool. Next season most likely you'll get offers from 5 star teams like A.C. and Arse.

Your players improve as you distribute more upgrade points to each category.
If you focus all of your points on the midfield, the midfield players will improve. If you don't focus any points on your defenders, they won't improve.
I'm not sure if playing them does anything. You would think that it would make a difference, but I'm not sure that it does. I think it all depends on the upgrade points and how you spend them.
