If understood you correctly, you are asking how to make the game read the modified file?
1. extract the file with CG File Explorer 16
2. edit it with notepad ++
3. copy the edited file to appropriate folder (FIFA 16 / xzy) - see path in File Explorer 16
4. regenerate with File Explorer 16 so the game reads that exterior modified file

Yes , beta , I get you , perhaps I did not expressed myself corectly because I'm trying to find a way to edit competition structure without CM for now and that's why I've asked.
Anyway , an ideea would be welcomed.

This is a really stupid question, but this is my first time using software like this, how do I access the career mode files. Which folder are they contained in?

They are in different .big files.
For example, playercontract.ini is in data_ini.big so you have to extract it, edit it and put it in folder
FIFA16\dlc\dlc_FootballCompEng\dlc\FootballCompEng\data

I'm seeing what I think must be duplicates in data_graphic2_extra for rx3 files. For instance, there are two Everton third kits, but I can't see which one is the one I'll want to edit.

E.g. kit_7_43_0.rx3 looks identical to kit_7_63_0.rx3 - it's the ugly green third kits for Everton.

Thanks for any suggestions.

There is sponsor rules for some country, some can't show alcoolic brand or bet brands. To not go against those law ea made different kits in order to follow those rules.

I think I've found all five of the kits Everton wears. Home / Away / Third / 1984 / 1986.

I assume all teams only have one goalkeeper kit file?

Yes, each club has one GK kit and some have no official GK kit.

kit_locale.ini in the ini.BIG has contains the sponsor codes.

ok now this is very frustrating. I selected FIFA 16 main folder, when I clicked on a big file, a message pops up and says access is denied. Well its frustrating because I can open big files from FIFA 15 which is in the same directory.

I am using win 7 ultimate x64, I ran the tool as an admin.

Please help

Just a quick update, i will be releasing version v0.7 soon,
this version will have a few new things impelented
1, import texture function now availabe, this will be done only on external file basis as i am not really wanting to mess with the big archive files, if u mess that up there no going back. so import texture will create a new file in the fifa16 folder structure.
2, i have added back functionality for pngs, although this is limited to dxt1, dxt5 and linear files. it should be enough to appease those who wanted it back
3, i have added an option to extract the manguage files from the locale.big.this can be found under the file menu bar.
4, i have added also under the file menubar an option to load the head bigs from the ui folder, u can export these the same as the normal bigs in the main fifa folder.
5, i have added two new option under the settings.
5.1, first option will be wheather to preview the extracted file if the regen has been instructed to read from the folder or always read from the big.
5.2, export multiple dds files in png format, this option is for exporting dds from the frontend.big, ie the adsonsors512x64 folder, with this optin ticked when you do a export selected all dds file withing your selection will be exported in png format.
6, i have added in a save funtion for txt, ini and lua editing in the tool.
7, added in 3d preview of the ball model(the 3d previewer is just a side project for the explorer)

download should be up within a day or two, just need to do some final checks and make sure everything is as it should be
