CG File Explorer 18

Check in kickoff whether the star rating has changed and when you start a new career you can see the team budget and home stadium
You seem to know what you're doing so I'll ask...

I opened the program; I edited (export/import) some faces in the legacy files; I then hit "Create Mod." Everything seems to be saving correctly, I can see it working away. When it's finished saving, I close the program and go into the game, but my edits aren't visible. I even reset squads in case that's the issue, but still nothing.

Am I missing a step here as far as getting the modded game to launch properly? Thanks.

EDIT: Got it working now, my edits are showing up in-game. The process was correct, I was just editing the wrong files. I now found the files I need to edit.

Here's a weird and pleasant surprise discovery... I made my edits using File Explorer, and they show up in my already edited/modded squad save file. This is unusual; every other modding process requires creating a whole new squads save file. Very happy about this, it means I don't lose my hours of db edits.

Loving the tool. However, I have a problem changing the head model for a player. It seems as though the DB does not save correctly when making the change from Creation Master because when I play the game, the player I modified has no head model on closeups. Also, when I use the DB Master to make the changes and go back to CM, an exception occurs and I have to close and reopen the program. If anybody has fixed this issue please let me know. Thanks.

Both DBM and CM have had save bugs for years. I only ever export tables and edit in Excel, not in the DBM tool. That way all my edits are guaranteed to stick. CM has a different and very specific save bug which would take too long to explain. As for disappearing heads, are you assigning proper codes to hashighqualityhead and headtype?

I remember the disappearing closeup head issue (I think), someone posted about it a couple years ago in FIFA 16 or 17. They also found the problem/solution, I think it was a PC graphical fix of some kind, card issue etc. It wasn't a file editing issue as I recall. Maybe Google that.

is this programme going to be updated so we can edit the world cup mode in the creation master part.
No need to wait for an update. The WC db loads in DBM. I prefer DBM as an editing tool so that's what I use to edit the WC db. And if it loads in DBM, I would guess it works with CM as well.

EDIT: So the WC db doesn't appear to work in CM, it crashes on saving. But you can still make your individual player edits in the default db using CM, and then transfer those edits to the WC db using DBM.

When doing official update by Origin, the update file will be installed in the Mods folder.
After restoring to "none", is it the correct way to update officially by Origin?

After restoring what to "none"? And what is "none"? I don't understand your question, sorry.
I am sorry that I am not good at English.

<Read Me.doc>
The splash screen will display and a box will be displayed asking you to select your FIFA 18 executable file,
browse to the install path containing the executable and select it.

Once selected another box will be displayed asking you to select your mod, you will have the option of "None" and "Import Patch"
as well as a check box displaying Load Mod Into The Explorer, check it.

Select None and CG File Explorer 18 will begin to load the game's files, depending on your machine hardware it will take longer for some
than it will for others, PLEASE be PATIENT.

Once CG File Explorer 18 is loaded you will be brought to CG File Explorer 18's main screen.

Okay, got it. It seems you are asking if choosing "none" updates the game back to the original Origin files. That is easy to test in-game. But the answer has to be no because if you used File Explorer, the default win32/exe have now been changed. You would need to reinstall those original backup files.

Or, you need to replace the files you edited: import the original unedited files and hit Create Mod. I do that when I want to revert back to the original db files.

Does anyone know why career mode crashes when selecting preseason friendly
Are you saying the default Origin career mode crashes when selecting preseason friendly? If so, then it's a bug and has nothing to do with File Explorer.

Thank you very much.
I will check it.

Not sure what you're saying. It works if you use DBM, open the WC db and add players, they will appear in WC mode. My created player, WC mode:

That's why I asked for clarification. So you edited career mode and now it crashes. Sorry to say, but there could be dozens of reasons for that, and it's impossible to know. This is how to troubleshoot, to find out which edits are causing the issue:

1. Start again by reverting back to the unedited files.
2. Edit one thing only.
3. Test in-game to make sure it doesn't crash.
4. Edit one more thing.
5. Test in-game to make sure it doesn't crash.
6. Etc and so forth.
