haha ... well, the "7" part ...

anybody who thinks the gulf in class between Utd and Roma is 6 goals either has their head up their ass (or someone else's ass), or they only watch the Prem ... oh wait, same thing ...
You get a bit mouthy and karma bites you. But do you admit that Roma didn't deserved to go through to the semifinals, no matter how many goals they conceeded?

add Graham Poll's "3 yellows" cock-up, and the various other instances that I'm sure fans will readily describe if prompted, and the case you present makes sense ...

but then you have the Italian scenario, where the aftereffects of the Calciopoli debacle still lingers, and every non-Inter supporter will tell you that they are the latest team to buy refs off -- either that or the refs suck ...

the bickering is constant between Spanish fans over the apparent favouritism shown toward Barcelona and Real Madrid, while those two sets of supporters themselves argue over who is more favoured -- the consensus is usually that the refs suck, so their team is not to blame ...

so, JJ, wherever in Europe you go, the tune seems to be the same ... and sadly, there's always a ref that comes along once a week who gives a bad name to the entire fraternity ...

EDIT: not just Europe, but Brazil, Argentina, I've heard the same from all at some point or another ...
Thank god Poll retired before digging that hole even deeper for himself, he had the biggest ego of any match official ever, and still keeps that ego rolling with a lot of his outspoken comments on professional footballers in the national press. I, like many other football fans and indeed players (especially the high earning folk at Stamford Bridge!) were so glad when he hung up his whistle.

Anyhow I don't rate refs from Spain either, they seem to be a bunch of "tarjeta roja"-happy bastardo's.

Anyway if Man U and Roma played each other again I doubt there'll be another 7-1. Roma played sh*te that night, but I think this time, if they do get drawn to face each other, they [Roma] will be in no mood for being humiliated.

Hehe, you'd be foolish to look past INTER MILAN!

We're without MAscherano for the Inter game............

Starting XI
Frankly, I looked at this tie from a realistic point of view. Although I support Inter, I knew this was going to be a good tie, and ultimately I didn’t care who would win as long as we would see two intense matches full of two heavyweights slugging it out.

For me, the first tie was a complete disappointment. Not because we lost, but because the ref pretty much ruined the game for both sides. Inter never got a chance to show themselves and their potential with numerical inferiority and frankly, Liverpool didn’t have a great game either since they didn’t really make that extra man advantage evident until very late in the game. And after that Kuyt goal (which was a bit unfortunate) Inter just died, LOL…

Since that tie, Inter has just gone down and Liverpool has gone up. Yet while I do know that Inter CAN easily get two goals, I’m not so sure that they will have that “now or never” mentality. Let’s face it, to come back from 2 goals in the CL is tough. However, the fact that Mascherano won’t be playing changes things around a bit, ultimately in favor of Inter…if Inter were to strike early Liverpool could break down without Mascherano…let’s face it, he’s a great player that can keep the midfield calm. Heck, in the first leg he just 0wned everyone he went for….

However if Liverpool score we’re done. Keep in mind, Inter only has one legit Center Back left, LOL…and frankly if Burdisso plays then Liverpool will SURELY get a goal…especially with Torres “falling” here and there… (sorry, just HAD to say it)

So, even if Mascherano won’t be playing, Liverpool still holds the MAJOR advantage…I’m looking forward to this game…I hope Inter will bring their animal mentality and just go for it…I would actually like for this to go into extra time…:D

Btw, Figo, Cruz, and Ibra will play…and I have a feeling Figo will be very important for us…

So yeah, those are my 2 cents on this tie…:)

I won't be surprised if Mancini would put 3 strikers upfront. Scoring an early goal in the first 45 minutes would boost Inter players to push everything.

can't wait to see..

I hope Figo scores two goals or something...or at least has a great game...after the way Liverpool managed to send off Materazzi at home, Inter deserve to win..

Mascherano is in, I doubt he'll play, but who knows.

Inter has to come out firing but we're faced with sitting back and defending or attacking from the go: Rafa has to get his tactics right.

This reminds me of Arsenal-Chelsea in 2004.....Chelsea finally broke through against Arsenal and knocked them out in the QF. I have a strong feeling that Liverpool is going to draw an English team or Barcelona.

Rafa ALWAYS gets his tactics right in Europe! And another MOTM peformance from monster Masch.

The victory turned a little sour for me after Inter just gave up. In the last 10 minutes we could've been playing Havant & Waterlooville all over again, although I'd actually give Havant more credit.
