That said, I'm not enthusiastic about this managerial pool. I even had some doubts about how Pep would fit so right now my preference is for Hiddink to stay on. I guess Conte and Simeone would be the best options for us but I don't like signing managers who have only succeeded with one team, even if they had great success, because there are so many factors that come into success on the pitch that I feel more comfortable with someone who has shown the ability to adapt and make the most of varied situations.

I would also be in favour of a short term contract for hiddinck

Sir_Didier_Drogba wants Rafa. My (less) crazy candidate is LVG. He'll implode after a year (so we have a year to find a better candidate than the current pool) and we'd finally see some youth get a proper chance and I'd bet that even if we lose a year of competitiveness, we'll at least identify and cement a couple of long-term stalwarts and could then build off that backbone with a (hopefully) long-term manager.
Speaking of youth, Kenedy and Traore starting tonight. Kenedy has a nice goal and both look lively in attack but Kenedy is showing that if he's going to feature at LB he needs to sort out his positioning. I could see someone like LVG making these guys, with Christensen, Baba and RLC, into good calibre players.

I like the little glimpses of Traore so far but it's still way to early to tell.
I think United should stick with LVG and just let him have a free hand - they'll get the next generation Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Keane out of the academy.
