Yeah it's pretty juicy.

We should keep Ba as backup, he is obviously happy to do that. Most top teams have four strikers, so Lukaku-Cavani-Ba should be no problem to rotate.

Right, I've lost all hopes on Lewandowski. I think this leaves us with 4 options:

1. Keep Lukaku + Sign No one = Lukaku, Ba, Torres.
2. Keep Lukaku + Sign Cavani = Cavani, Lukaku, Ba, Torres (would be nice if we could off-load Torres if this was the case)
3. Loan Lukaku + Sign Cavani = Cavani, Ba Torres.
4. Loan Lukaku + Buy Stopgag = Higuain?, Ba, Torres.

I think 2. is pretty fucking stupid since Lukaku needs to be seeing a lot of playing time. Of the other 3 options, I'm not even sure which I'd prefer. I think Lukaku is good enough to come in and assert himself, but perhaps a season at Swansea or similar would be better for his development. If we do loan him, the question is who we get. Either we go for the best that's available, and pay the premium for Cavani and then try to move Ba and Torres on in the future, or we get someone who is an improvement on what we have, but won't be as expensive and could move to 2nd choice more readily when Lukaku returns. Either way, while I'm loving the Barca rumors, I can't see why anyone would take Torres off our hands so I'd just make the best of it and use him to rest the others.

But if you loan Lukaku and get Cavani, what's going to happen next season? Unlike FM I don't see a team with money selling Cavani in such circumstances, unless he flops badly and become a back-up but I doubt he will, he'll probably have a great season and will be better than Lukaku at that stage of their careers.

Yeah, but I figure we'd be at a better position to sell one of Torres and Ba, and then Lukaku would have to fight with Cavani for a spot. Assuming Lukaku has a great season, he'd be much better equipped to challenge Cavani for minutes. Right now, if Lukaku came in with Cavani, he'd have to contend with a 60m signing needing to settle in and two other strikers for minutes, and I don't think he's up for it right now. With another year of experience behind him and Cavani settled in, he'd be in a better position to get minutes and make the most of it.

But if Chelsea decided to spend 60m on a creative midfielder and let Lukaku have a go at the ST spot, maybe getting someone low-key to plug in just in case, I wouldn't mind at all.

Just to let you know we are linked with brining back Matic for 38 MILLION! That is 34 more than we received for him. Absolutely nuts.

Get rid that Emelano guy. He let Matic go in a terrible deal for Luiz...

WHAT? Shut up, Emebalo has brought in some of the bestvsignings at the club. Mata, Hazard, Oscar, the Belgians...

Matic is not worth that sum, at all. We shouldn't have included him in the Luiz deal, but it's not that big of an issue. This Matic narrative is tired already.

Kevin de Bruyne was unknown outside of Genk when Chelsea made their first offer. Negotiations dragged out, but he was still an unknown quantity before his breakout season with Bremen, and Emenalo was on him. Same goes for Courtois, who we signed immediately after his first season as a starter. Beyond that, there's lots of good youngsters who we have signed, and the Mata, Azpi, Hazard, Oscar buys were good too. David Luiz, Matic or not, was a great transfer for us, as well. Cahill and Ba were cheap and have done relatively well. There have been mistakes, but Emenalo has been a very good Director for us, so far.

Now that the U21's are over, I'm hoping Chelsea pop into action and get Thiago and van Ginkel signed. Once the Confed is over we'll see what's the deal with the ST position, but we should be tying down our creative midfielder soon.

Mourinho with Ramires can't possibly be anything but awesome (H)

There are quotes indicating that Mikel to Galatasaray is a matter of time. I don't like this. We could get a new player, a better.player, easily, but Mikel is still our best CM and replacing his abilities as a pure holder is more difficult. We do have Romeu, though, and Essien. Seems very stupid to let our best MC go, especially as it forces us to get two, a defensive and a creative midfielder. It would bring the position into the top of the requirementvlist, so getting De Rossi/Matic might become a priority.
