I think 20m should be the minimum asking price. Note that the transfer fee is what's left to sort out in this deal, apparently.

Yeah, I expected that. He's on a long-term contract, about to enter the prime of his career, he plays in a position of need and is our best player in that position right now, especially as he's the only one with a proven track record and future at it. It would also cost around 30m to replace him. We should be looking to make him 3rd choice, not sell one of our most consistent performers. Sturridge went for 15, Allen for around that. If Mikel is sold we should be looking to get as much as we can for him. He should cover the cost of his replacement, just to make sure we can still spend on the positions of greater need.

Sturridge went for 12m, and Allen went for 15m because Liverpool fucking overpay for the Brits no matter what. Mikel's worth 12m at most imho.

Allen is worth 15, he's gonna be a 30m player in a year or two, mark my words.

Mikel is worth at least 20m and probably more due to his top club and champions league experience and pedigree, you know he can handle the big matches and has no injury problems and that adds a lot to his price tag. Ideal player for a newly rich club looking to establish itself and wanting to make sure it has reliable experience. If a club like PSG or Monaco or Zenit or whatever wanted him they should be forced to pay 30m.

I don't know what weed you were smoking when you posted that, SirC, but no, Allen won't be a 15m player, let alone a 30m player in two years. Very suspect defensively as Mus says, and his passes are seldom direct and mostly backwards or sideways.
