Is there a difference in gameplay in the NG version like more fouls etc or is it same crap?

But it doesn't change the fact that many others who have played the game weren't as impressed as you.

it is very easy to be impressed by anything other than the same recycled mess you have been used to for years.

i am sure it has some tweaking to it but not to a level of making it worth it.

with that said i am sure the ability to make tweaks that will actually make the game feel sim and not like an arcade game can be done but the real question is will ea stray from their path to give the grown ups who play the game the sim they desire rather than making all the kids happy with this arcade style nonsense.

that's the problem - but you cannot criticise younger players - kids - or even older player if they want to play an arcade game. It's like I want Battlefield more a simulation, but most of the player don't want it. It's a personal view of what you like.

I have been spending most of my time on pes2014 at the moment and comparing on the pitch feel and look, I have had a good look at 14 NG and I have to say in my personal view, if fifa matched pes2014 on the pitch or bettered it, it could justify its name of "next generation" but so far it does not one bit. I actually reflect on it as "silly" with the way fifa moves overall but never took the time to compare.

Afraid to say at my end I have moved to PES becuase I just cant go back to CG fifa look and feel anymore after taking a bite of the pes apple. Pes does fail in menus/mode features and frizz but presentation of tournaments and play all feel and look plus its broadcast cam matching TV completely just has me hooked.

Im only speaking of PC users here and dont want a pes/fifa war .. but since I have just had pes non stop for 2 weeks or more and then stop and return to fifa for a game (after not knowing any difference) and then watching NG video plays ... I could not return. I think I could only return to CG fifa now for be a pro and career with simming to enjoy its career features and scouting, but thats it now. I was even scrapping around to make creases on kit better, and pes just looks lovely.

Also if we are wanting NG on PC we are literally asking for tournament mode to be removed, wonderful move on EA's part that eh. (please confirm if this is false info becuase its sad if its true).

If in a parallel universe someone coded all of fifas career features and matched its GUI, kept the open edited features (almost sandbox like) of PES, kept all on the pitch and visuals and controls/presentation level of pes, added all fifas commentary to pes existing and then expanded on it, we would have the best footy game in the world.

To top this off im playing PES on the same dual core/gtx260/XP SP3 I play fifa on and it runs smooth with a small amount of fps drop on replays, even fraps captures smoother than fifa14, so that notion of NG not on PC is pure comedy. One odd thing is PES run worse at lower res, so i have to have max res to run smooth, which if you think about it is a bonus as it should be the other way around

And dont get me started on gawping endlessly in fraps at the replays compared to Fifa's replay umm "render via poor codec to a vid file thing". Actually those on NG, whats replays saving like ...same old or can you now jump back in full 3d and watch like you can with replays after the game?

Disclaimer: this is just my view of it from an older PC user perspective with no option but stick to CG fifa & zero fanboy crap.

But
2. I said I want battlefield more a simulation. Because I like the engine and stuff and bla.

Same with fifa. I want fifa to be more a simulation and TV like. I don't want to play pes.

I haven't played the game, but I have read many reviews which agree with your point. I saw one video where the guys sounded like they were trying harder to convince themselves about the amazing new animations - at one point, a diving header was scored and they went mad about the animations. I see diving headers like that in Fifa CG all the time. Same goes for the sliding tackle they went so mad about.

I saw Messi scoring header over Pepe, I'll post a video when I find it. So much of AI being improved. What maters if 2-3, and even all 11 players can now jump for the ball at the same time if Messi can score beautiful header over them all? So much of gameplay improvement. Hat down for animations, ambient, graphics and other minor stuffs, as I siad, it looks and feels amazing, impressive. All who first time play FIFA 14 NG will be delighted. But it's just a scratch over the surface, gameplay core is the same as we have for last few years.

With Data Pack 2.0 and 1.04 gameplay update, I'm enjoying PES 2014 as never before. And yes, I was the first one complaining how PES 2014 is shit. FIFA 14 is not installed on my PC currently, and with PES 2014 improving I think I wont even play it till new versions of both games.

Anyway, How are you enjoying Master League with new updates? Thoughts?

I know what your were getting at as regards liking what you have but wanting it to be more of something, but annoying as such statements are they are the facts, hence the reason you have arma3 already

In bold, so far the only thing coming close is pes (IMHO) it looks animates and cameras move just like TV (braodcast camera is exactly like TV), becuase thus far EA even now bringing out a new engine for bran new consoles have done **** all to move it in that direction, apart from "slightly nudge it". This comes from someone who spent all last year and part of this with 14 modding and feedback with AI mods. I just found after all that tweaking, ini editing, texture messing, repacking, tweaking ... slider fiddling ... I opened PES2014 and got what I was after, and that wasn't what I was expecting at all.

It was a bit like .... cynical mode was on, I played it ... sort of started to compare and be cynical with Fifa head on ... played it .... patchedit .... learning the controls more .. found myself loosing time in training mode (didn't exist in fifa for me) and then realised "oh shit this was what I was trying to suck out of fifa14 p***ing about with mods". I think spent more time in training mode using controls and messing with game plan sliders than I have ever done in a footy game.

Its a bit off topic here but just as a reply as you asked, I have pesedit patch 2.0/DLC2/1.04 and my own mods packed to cpk (around 3 gigs of data in total) and its lovely. Master League, have to say that I was waiting on the new patch 1.04 and also the new pespatch before starting any leagues or careers so I cant comment fully, but as I just started its "be a pro" so to speak, seriously weak on the features out of the game at menu, but in some strange way it means you spend more time appreciating the core football game than the fluff

Strangely its the lack of everything outside of the footy match itself that I quite like, I thought it would be the opposite. I guess as an older player I just like to have something I can edit to death (and pes is wide open) and get to the game and have decent presentation with simulation like controls ... passing through balls and curve passing is a dream for me, a real sense of feeling your making space and chances with reward, and knowing that if I almost blindly pas into space AI players will make runs to the ball, I can actually rely on them as much as I can multi control them too. Recently found a bunch of game plans, realised they are like mini slider settings per preset, tikka takka one touch passing and marking pressure of Barca is a dream to watch.

** back on topic ** If fifa NG had this I wouldn't want anything else as I say I dont hate Fifa I just didnt touch PES until 14 when I realise it can run on my system to have some comparison. I was surprised at what I found (no bias at all) and then looking back and to the play on NG they are like chalk and cheese, and I would EXPECT fifa to come out fighting and have it play feel and look like pes2014 has done on the pitch to earn that "Next Generation" title absolutely but as bangus pointed out, no way has it done that "yet".
