imo the biggest problem with most of these guys (and i'm probably talking more about the portuguese referees, as they're the ones i see more often) is that they don't know a thing about football and about how each game is different...they don't know how to read the situation, and then they just blindly follow the rules in these strict lines to which they don't allow any kind of variation...i don't know if i'm making myself clear :p

Yeah you are mate, and I agree. They all know the rules but NOTHING about football. We have the very same problem here in England. Our refs are people who could not play the game, so being a ref is the next best thing. They seem to resent players who have made it, and the bigger the player (or the team), the nastier the ref behaves towards them. Especially if itgets their name in the papers. The English FA back them all the way and will never critisize any ref, however crap he might be.

I remember a time when nobody even knew any referee's name. Now they all wanna be famous.

referee issue aside, for the League Cup final, i really hope Grant starts with SWP and Joe Cole up to support Drogba/Anelka, or play 4-4-2 with both Anelka and Drogba up front, only when Anelka came on last night was when we looked a bit more creative, Malouda and A.Cole have been poor for the last few games and they need to be dropped....and also play Mikel in the place of Makelele, since Maka's been playing a lot of games now and i think Mikel's short, calm passing suits us more against Arse, should he not get sent off AGAIN.....

We are better with 2 good wingers like Joe and SWP, its Malouda that needs to be dropped. It doesn't matter where Malouda plays, he always dissapoints. Maybe he will improve by next season though, he does deserve more time before we write him off I guess.

I like Obi but his clumsiness worries me. 10 men against Spurs is not something I wanna think about.

Maka does seem a calmer and more "in control" player, but his long passing is not very good. Keep it short at all times is the key, and as you say Zakov, Obi is fine with that. As long as Maka sticks to what he is good at, then there is nobody better at that IMO.

Spuds will be up for it big time, but we will be up for it BIGGER time. Should be a great game though. I'm looking forward to it a lot.

yup, thats the consequence of having a great squad, but i'm all happy with the players he chooses as long as we put out a great performance and win......
but i prefer Lamps over Ballack against Arse with Essien and Obi in midfield, play Joey and Shaun to support Drogba or Anelka.....also want Bridge and Belletti since i think they provide a good balance on both flanks attacking wise, since both possess great delivery into the box.....Riccy/Alex and Terry in defence, with Cech in goal, duh.....

yes but the other consequence is you start having superstars benched week after week, and that didn't work for Real, and it's only now starting to work for Barcelona...

oh well, tough $hit to them if they get the bench, they have to fight for their place and i'm sure they'll be expecting that. like Capello said, players should be picked based on form not names.

decent looking line-up there but i would switch kalou with joey cole and joey cole with SWP...and i don't know why, but i get a feeling that Anelka's gonna turn up great in this game!!

YES! Sorry for you guys, but i am totally happy Tottenham and particularly Berbatov grabbed the cup at Wembley.

Still you're in another 3 tournaments so your season's not all over yet.

The only thing that you might be furious about is the ref blowing the whistle seconds before Kalou hitting the post :D
