Thanks man. I'm not disappointed by our performance. We did extremely well against a team who have scored more that 100 goals...(its like that one team in your division as a school boy that just dominated the division).
After this match, we proved we can play against a team like Barca's calibre, and I'm sure of one thing tonight, the only teams in the world that can beat Barca is Chelsea and Manchester United.
We exploited the weaknesses in the back with the not-so-popular long ball which terrorized the Barca defence. I thoroughly enjoyed the battle between Drogba and Toure/Pique and Malouda and Alves. We had so many great opportunities. And Bison with his goal..just brilliant.
I'm so glad that we didn't buy Dani Alves. This game showed how big of douche bag he is, and I'm glad that he's gonna miss the final. But I do feel for Fletcher and Abidal. Atleast Abidal shouldn't have been sent off, that's for sure.
Okay, so now to the ref. I'm going to say that he had a solid first half, except the Malouda/Alves inside/outside the box foul. When the second half started, he didnt call anything for us. But there was at least five penalty appeals. Not all of them should be awarded, but the blatant hand-ball by Pique and the tussle between Alves and Malouda should at least result in one penalty. That one penalty would've sent us through.
As for Drogba in the end, I would've done the same thing. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do but I would've reacted the same way.
Back to Barca, we stopped them from playing. Chelsea intimated them. They lacked fluency, at least in the final third but in the end Iniesta (Barca's Lampard) came up and scored, likewise as he did against Stoke, Liverpool, Wigan and NUMEROUS other times. I'm extremely proud of this team and I'm disappointed that a referee ruined a great game.
I feel so bad for Lampard and Terry. They can't believe that this has happened again. 2 minutes away from revenge.
Next year, the CL is ours. You bet your life it is. Barnebau here we come!!
