Drogs was onside. Ramires wasn't bad for once, and he might've had a good game had Anelka given the ball back to him twice instead of going for Malou on the other side.

Holding on to a 1-0 win at home, and asking for the time is ridiculous. And yet again, in our 'give-youth-a-chance' season we made two subs right at the end, using just our vets.

Once Lamps is fit we should be getting back to normal, even better when the rest of the squad gets fit too, so we have a good bench, as well, but we'll need to spend in the summer.

This had better be a turning point, and the lads should be getting their confidence back. We still have an outside chance on the league, considering we have two matches against ManU left, but we need to start winning everything.

Again, I fail to see your point.

Ya cause maybe we got Points (3) against The Baggies
and you just got a POINT (1) against Villa
I know it sucks but meh...:blah:

You're really earning that 'trying to be funny but not' award.

Anyway, conceding 3 goals at the Bridge, I'm not sure if I can even be disappointed. We're 5th now, and we'd better step it the **** up if we still wan't to play in thje CL next season.

I think I've jinxed us. The only matches I havent watched since our slump began have been Fulham, Zilina and Bolton, and those are our three wins. Maybe I should stop watching.

Gutting display at the Bridge yesterday, piss poor really BUT winning it late could have been such a massive confidence boost, the last villa goal was so so soft and just showed a pathetic attitude from certain defenders of ours.

Ferreira is utterly, utterly worthless, might aswell be playing without a right fullback.

The only consolation is, I cant see Arsenal, City or Tottenham lasting the pace without big dips in form, and we still have to play Utd twice. I think we're still in the title race, but we've got to win both those games.

Agree on Kalou, hugely disagree on Mikel and Anelka. Mikel last season, maybe, but this season he's established himself as a great player. Having a player like Mikel, or Anelka for that matter, on the bench, would mean that our entire midfield and attack are world-class, something that I wouldn't mind, but they don't need substituting.

The Ade ideam is absolutely retarded, especially for that price. 10m at most, and that's assuming we go for him, which is stupid. Playing two strongmen isn't effective, if you figure out how to stop one, you've stopped the other. Ade's attitude is poor, too, and unless he takes over from Drogs, and I'd be astounded if he ever gets that good, it's a silly move. We should be looking at potential substitutes, but not Adebayor.

Ramires is as good as a track player. He runs, and runs, and runs, and contributes nothing else. Our worse player so far this season, IMO, and absolutely overpriced.

I dont think Mikel has really established himself, I actually blame the slump partially on his mediocrity in midfield, even at the beginning of the season when we won everything, he didnt impress me. I am hoping he will be phased out of the first team with Lampard's return and be back on the bench where he belongs as a solid defensive sub, something we have lacked of late.

Anelka, I have never been his biggest fan, always at Chelsea he has looked disinterested, even at his best he has screwed up far more chances than he put in the net. There's a reason he's been booted out of every club he ever played at. Do you ever feel, when we're struggling for a goal, he could be a game changer in the way Drogba or Essien or Lampard can be? He doesnt even support Drogba, Drogba's support all comes from Malouda and Lampard when he's fit. To be frank I would sell Anelka whilst he's still worth something.

Adebayor, I know it's an odd idea, but I stand by it. He has, or at least had the potential to be as good as Drogba (I just hope this Man City nonsense hasnt damaged his development). Dont forget, Drogba wasnt even a top division player at 25 years old. Under Drogba's tutoring and influence, he could evolve into the natural replacement, and even playing together, back to a basic two strong men attack (and they are not just strong men both are fast and very skilled) could work wonders for us, and above all, in an era of vastly inflated transfer prices he would be affordable and offer good value for money.

Ramires has got worse since i made that post, he seems to have abandoned his commitment to slow and steady play and establishing his place and instead now tries to join the attack and wastes chances with rash, impetuous shots and bad, overhit passes.

We have no replacement for what Mikel does, so even if he were mediocre, which he isn't, we would be stuck playing either an all-attacking midfield, or stifle our best players for the sake of not playing Mikel. He's good, not so much lately, but no one has been good lately, you can hardly blame him for it.

Anelka is our current joint-top scorer despite playing out of position (he and Drogs were amazing as a striking partnership early last season). We have not been pinning teams into their own halves, and that's when Anelka does his best work, dropping into space, allowing Malouda and Lamps to rush through, and work his magic outside of the area. Either that or getting onto balls over the top, and without Lamps that's been something we've struggled to do. To say Anelka is uninterested is akin to saying that about Berbatov, the only reason to do so is when things aren't clicking. He's won me over and I wouldn't sell him, not yet anyway.

Adebayor does not slot into our system. Either he or Drogba would have to move wide, and both of them will do a worse job than Anelka. Drogs can handle himself there, but he outranks Adebayor and I doubt he'd be keen on playing out of position for Adebayor. We have no use for him. I'd rather have Fuller, frankly.

Ramires is crap, right now I'd rather play McEachran, or even recall Matic, than play him.

Zakov

Senior Squad
I thought Ramires did ok, if anyone was crap it was most of the team, especially in the first half.

The thing with Ramires is despite his shortcomings, he does put a good amount of effort and fights for the team. I think Carlo should experiment and put him in the RM/RW as he seems to have the energy to bring the ball forward and fall back to defense.

We're most vulnerable at RB, especially with Paulo playing(another thing I can't understand). We have Bosingwa fit again, he should start over Paulo. Ivanovic is our best RB but we need him at CB.

Disappointing game in the end, but Villa deserved the point.

Heard we were linked with Luiz and Gary Cahill, Luiz seems unlikely to come though since Benfica has slapped a 30Mil price tag on him. Might as well buy two or three decent players with that price. Van Der Vaart only cost Spurs 8Mil for pete's sake, and he came from Real Madrid!

Cahill however, does seem like a good buy. I've always been impressed by him when he plays against us.

Face it, the whole team is crap...
esp Ramires..what a waste of a buy, Id put him with the likes of DJemba Djemba :D

Nice Read.
btw...on a serious note. Im not very much aware about the Chelsea Academy.
True every club has youngsters coming up which are good.
But my question would be, to Zakov, Az, and co...
are those youngsters as good as the Cleverleys, machedas, wellbecks, etc we produce , the Wilshere, Clichy, n others wenger has nourished?

I may be wrong, but i guess the best way to make young talents up their prime is to give some regular football...reasonable starts..the more the play the more they learn..its simple..
Chelsea's squad is too old now and I knew this would happen to them someday..

We'll know in time. The only players we have who are along the same lines in terms of their stage in development are Matic, Rajkovic and Mancienne. Mancienne doesn't have as much raw talent, but he's decent. I dunno about the others as much, I haven't been following Vitesse, although Matic has apparently been doing well. Our youth program is still new and we're not using our youth, or squad in general, properly, but it'll get there, there's a lot of young talent in the squad.

The squad is not too old, it's too thin. That said, it needs rejuvenating, but we don't need an overhaul or anything.

Yeah he has been the deal of the century for Spurs.

Look back at what Robben and Sneijder did for their new clubs in their first seasons after being sold by Madrid...then throw in what Van der Vaart has done for Spurs.

Talk about one man's trash is another man's treasure
