Like I said, management inexperience in England yes, but unfamiliarity no, he hasn't been in here in a couple of years but I'm sure he's had plenty of links/contacts in England that made his re-adjustment process easier. He already knows Cobham inside out, familiar with most of the players, backroom staff, board and West London.
But I agree on Robbie's signing. Definitely a big bonus having someone like him back at the club. I could say that West Brom was still mostly Robbie's team even after Hodge-podge took over.

Surprised he's considering it, after his experience last time. He's a good player, and I like him, he has a fairly unique style of playing and he an definitely deputise well for anyone in midfield, the closest in style being Essien, and we'd definitely be getting him for less than his market value, but it's definitely not the midfield player we need, but more of a quick fix while Essien is injured, which is why we wanted to loan him.
A quality back-up, but I don't think he'd be a starter in a fully-fit side. Does offer something different, though, so for the price, good transfer, but the money is better used investing in Modric or Sneijder.
It looks like the Belgian trio talks have died down, seemingly because Lukaku is in no hurry to leave and so Anderlecht are holding out for 30m, which is far too steep. Dunno anything about De Bruyne, but it sounds like the Genk keeper is going to sign and stay there for another year. Glad that the board has identified our weakness in goal.
Falcao has signed a new contract, Spurs are doing all they can to hold onto Modric, and we're apparently looking for a CB. Hope it doesn't mean Luiz or Alex are leaving.

Nevertheless, he still is a good player, tremendous worker and does have the ability to carry the ball forward from defense, good tackler as well. He might be able to do the job of replacing Essien(circa last three seasons), but there's no comparison between them if they were both fit and at the top of their game.
But in saying that, Essien was a bit poor last season(and hasn't been in good form for over 3 years now), and it'll be a while before we find out if Essien can get back to his absolute best.
Although I also have reservations on Parker's own fitness and health, as he was on the sidelines a lot for West Ham last season.
Might prove to be a big gamble if you look at it that way.
I think the best deal we get out of him is if we can get him on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
That would be the plausible move rather than buying him and have him on the treatment alongside Essien after 2-3 games into the season.
Parker would rather stay at West Ham than go on loan, and they want too much for a loan anyway.
Kakuta was at Fulham, and was a squad player. I think another loan at a Prem club will do him good, and then we'll see. Not ready yet. But it's hard to tell with AVB, because his view on the players will be different.

Agreed a price for Courtois who is undergoing a medical, terms no yet agreed. Glad that we're addressing the GK weakness, although Genk seemed to say something about a huge price, which I'm not as pleased about, but hey, he's supposed to have lots of potential. Sounds like he won't stay at Genk on-loan, nor will he join he squad at Asia for pre-season.
Regarding the travelling squad, Kakuta is with the France u-20, Luiz and Ramires will probably get some more time off and Essien's 6 month lay-off means he stays in London. Cech and Alex travelled despite carrying slight injuries.
