4 goals in 15 minutes? boring as hell

It was actually 4 goals in 10 minutes. :ewan: Turned on the TV yesterday to watch some of the game and it turned out to be at the stage of the Lampard free kick for goal # 1 by Drogba. Sadly, it was the best 10 minutes of the weekend.

Those are the goals, set to RATM, thanks to Abramovich of the Chelsea Supporters Registry. If you all want me to, I'll try and pass along whatever he posts, because he is usually the media guru of that site and hooks us all up.

Eidur Gudjonsson is needed in the side as a linking midfielder and I would like to see him being played as a forward while Lampard gets a rest and the midfield is four man.
I too was mightily impressed with how Guddy just walked in and made an impact. I would not at all be adverse to playing the same formation as we finished with yesterday, with 3 CBs at the back and Guddy or Crespo and Drogba up top. I think that would need to be balanced by a dedicated, 5 man midfield, though.

Anyway, here is to Didi Drogba. He left the ball totally unselfishly for a beautiful finish from Lamps yesterday, and this is the second matchday where he has torn into an opposing defense for fun. 2 games, 2 goals, 4 assists and a penalty won (Y) Everyone was slagging him off as complete crap for a long time on these boards, but now that he is injury free, producing week in and out and demonstrating why we bought him, I dont think any questions can be asked of him anymore.

He may not have been worth how much we payed for him, but Didier Drogba is finally the striker Chelsea thought they were getting. Myself, Rob Pete and a few others never doubted him, but on other boards, people were calling for him to be sacked or just released after last season (no lie) :nape: It makes me wonder how Kezman would be if he was still here.

btw full article on that Cruyff thingie dont think it had been posted yet:

Cruyff's wisdom 10 October 2005

After winning the Champions League with Porto I could quite happily have called it a day and wiled away the hours playing golf and criticising the work of others. It could have been the start of a beautiful story, but this is not and will never be my story.

It sounds more like Johan Cruyff's. After leaving Bara he has managed to remind everybody that he was European Champion and help people forget that whenever he won the Spanish League it was on the last weekend and only because of other results - in Tenerife and in Corua - not to mention the fantastic final when Milan, led by the pragmatic Capello, thrashed Cruyff's team 4-0.

Since 1996 Cruyff has played golf and criticised others; since 1996 he has manipulated and used the power conferred to him by the fact he was a fantastic football player; since 1996 he refuses to re-enter the new reality of modern football; since 1996 football has been waiting for his teachings. I want him to come and teach me. I say it in all humility.

I want him to teach me to be a better coach, because I don't want to stop learning.

But he can't teach me to be champion because I've done that three times, and I never had to rely on Djukic missing a penalty in the last minute of the last match. He can't teach me to win the UEFA Cup because I've done that; he can't teach me to be European Champion, because I've done that And I don't want him to teach me to get battered 4-0 in a Champions League final, because I don't want to learn that.

I won the UEFA Cup in a spectacular 5-goal final, I won the Champions League 3-0 in the final, I won the Premiership with a record number of victories, my team is leading the Premiership with the highest number of goals scored.

May Cruyff come. Football has been waiting for him for ten years! And, if possible, may he come to the Premiership, where maybe he will learn that he is in the 21st century!

Astonishing Anfield 3 October 2005

I've never seen that before and I have to take my hat off to them. Liverpool were losing 4-1 at home, and Anfield was proudly singing the club anthem. Astonishing!

(sidenote- that's because they have nothing else but singing)

Carvalho back to his best

I was missing Ricardo Carvalho at the highest level. After the match against Sunderland I told him in my office: "You're making my life easy, playing like that. Del Horno comes back and you're out in the cold. Then you'll be crying!"

The next day it was recuperation training for those who had played and development training for the others. Ricardo asked to train, certainly thinking about the two matches against Liverpool.

In the Champions League match he put in an excellent display, with just a single mistake in a dead-ball situation, and a few fouls whistled by a strict referee in his battle against Crouch. In the following game he played a staggering match - tight on Crouch's movement, first to the ball every time, perfect timing in his jumping and marking, winning everything in the air. He brought the ball out of defence and didn't fail a pass. He maintained absolute concentration and, together with Terry, intelligently pushed the team ten metres up the pitch to escape the danger coming from second wave attacks.

A spectacular match that makes my selection difficult. These are the kind of difficulties I love having players at their best. That is where players should do their talking - on the pitch! And obviously, playing like that they have to play.

So what's his argument really? That he's better than Cruyff? Deary me.

Fact: Chelsea is boring. Therefore, Cruyff is right and Mourinho is a ****.

End of story.

Why they boring couse they win almost every time? :|
Although i gotta agree with you. Mourinho is becoming almost predictable, meaning we already know he is going to win the next game and he will be criticised for that. He will make everyone shut the hell up with his broken English and the tabloids will sell by dissing him. Yep he is becoming boringly predictaable. Too bad everyone wishes his team would share the same 'boredrom'.

OR....Cruyff is a golf playing bigmouth who is out of touch with reality.I think if you compare what Cruyff and Jose have each achieved as a manager and coach, then Jose makes Cruyff look like the pratt that he is.He stated purely the facts in that statement, and you cant argue with that.So Jose is right.....what the f.u.c.k could Cruyff teach him about managing a football team.

" And I don't want him to teach me to get battered 4-0 in a Champions League final, because I don't want to learn that."...............Priceless........... :rockman:

Apart from Cruyff,we have plenty of ex players in England who think they know more than they do......Terry Butcher for one......always slagging off managers and players.....and what has this bonehead ever achieved as a manager?........Nothing at all.
Take a great player like Pele.Ten times the player that Cruyff was.Does he ever badmouth anyone? He doesn't need to.First up ,he don't shout his mouth off because he might be worried that the world might have forgotton who he is.Second up....he dont have a chip on his shoulder against the well paid players and managers in football today. When he says Chelsea are boring ,its only 'cos he knows that even Lenny Pidgley is richer than him,and Chelsea's name gets into the papers more than his does.
What he needs to realise ,is that nobody gives a s.h.i.t about his opinions today...they mean as much as Terry Butchers opinions.

Their style of play is boring.

You're German, you should know something about it.

Well i'd rather remember the 1974 Dutch team as the one who lost the final than the team who brought total football, and i pretty damn sure you would have sold your soul to have won anything no matter how. Don't give me that sh1t everyone would be happy if the team they support wins, boring or not boring football.

Total football brought the Dutch more fame than any World Cup win would've. Look around these forums for instance. There are so many people who simply like Holland because we like to playing football.

As for pede54: does anyone cares what you say? People read the first two lines of your post and scroll down to the next post. But thanks for trying.

and you took a poll across the forums for that insight did you?....you talk outa your arse man........Thats just a cop out 'cos you don't have a thing to say about it.
Total Football was a concept 30 years ago......get over it...this is 2005.

No, it's because I don't wanna give people like you any attention. You yourself said that you just wanna stir things around and aren't really serious about the things you write.

"Cruyff is a golf playing bigmouth"

See what I mean?

National teams are supposed to be enjoyed because of national pride and accievements not from the type of football they play. What sounds better? My country won the world cup 3 times and as many times the european cup. or My country invented total football but we only have won 1 european cup. ? I'm pretty sure nationwise you are prouder of the 1988 european championship victory over total football. What do you think i dont enjoy dutch football? I sure do but GOLDware/SILVERware is what matters and when it came to finishing the job the kinda flash dancing Dutch football almost every time has come short, meanwhile practicality in German football has written its name in history. Now tell me what do your record book show? Who invented types of football or who won cups? I thought so.

Help?

If Manchester United and Arsenal don't do anything about it, then i see a perfect New Year's gift of 50 games to Chelsea fans.

You can't be serious...You seriously would rather play nice fancy football, instead of playing effective football and actually win things, That's the reason Portugal has won Carlos ****.

Plus it's not like Chelsea are playing bad and sneaking away 1-0 wins. I love the way Chelsea play and the way Mourinho coaches. It's simply amazing, watching him and his team control 99% of games. Mourinho has brought coaching up a notch and until the other coaches get it, he'll run away with everything

So you're telling me you'd hate to see Ajax winning the Champ League with Mourinho as the coach, playing his style. Come on....
