this will be a very hard game.

Probably the most important game of the group phase for us, if we lose we're pretty much out of the competition, if we draw there is still hope but slight and if we win we're likely to go through.

Rui Costa and Karagounis are major abscences but so are Gravesen and possibly Hesselink for Celtic.

Even so, individually I have little doubts that we have better players than them, so it's all down to how they perform tonight, how they get into the game and how will they deal with the atmosphere of Celtic Park.

I have a lot of hope that we can snatch a result today but a more realistic prediction would be a 1 - 1 draw.

It will be an extremely difficult game for Benfica. Celtic will come out of the traps flying and if you're not prepared for that you could be totally thrown and they could score quite a few. However, I still maintain they have a shocking defence. Any reasonable ping from distance is well worth the effort.

The travelling Benfica fans will love the Parkhead area btw, and the restricted view seats (H)

yeah Celtic only lost at home to Barcelona, I think people are getting over their heads here if they're expecting a win.

To win there would be really important for us, but it's going to be extremely difficult like you guys mentioned. However we must play for the win if we're thinking in going through.

I believe if we put the ball on the floor we can take advantage of our players' technique and do a good match. Hope the players are calm enough to do so..

A realistic prediction would be 1-1. Still, Benfica's upfront is looking quite good right now, and maybe a win can be snatched, but the game is going to be very tight. Anyway, 1-1 is my prediction.

don't even know what to say, i'm completely disappointed by the lack of attitude of the team and sad for the fans that actually made the trip.

Congrats to Celtic, they had a depleted squad, fought more and deserved the 3 points fully.

oh come on, they took their chances, we didn't, they dominated possession most of the game as well, we didn't deserve to get anything from this game, end of.

Btw how does Fernando Santos after a brilliant 442 display in the weekend brings back the f*cking diamond midfield? We had already been humilliated enough this season when using it, I think.

in my opinion we created enough chances to get at least one goal while they were deadly effective... of course they deserved it because they scored and we not bla bla bla bla, but in my books i saw a good Benfica except for the first 20 minutes were i didn't had the chance to see the game and don't know how we played, and except for the first 10 minutes of the second half, were they make an assist of a bad shot.

maybe they deserved the win ok, i take that but never for 3-0. right after their goal if we had a bit more luck Assis could've draw the game, and the game would be right back where it was, and the second goal wouldn't come because we wouldn't be so balanced at the attack.

Oh and by the way, we used the exact same display as in the weekend

a midfield with Petit, Kat, and Assis in the playmaker role going to the left wing quite often as he likes, and an attack trio with constant movements by the three...

anyway, Uefa, here we go

or not :(

no we didn't, we just didn't...

Simao played most of the game in the center

in the weekend we played an almost flat 442 with Nuno Assis in the right dropping to the middle sometimes and Simao in the left wing closer to the forwards than Nuno Assis, even F.Santos said so.

Today we played: Petit as DM, Assis as LCM, Katsouranis RCM and Simao as AM.

Benfica have some talented players and played some nice football at times, but only really in midfield. I can't remember them creating any big chances. Their best effort was the long range shot which clipped the bar. Celtic played a good game and deserved the win.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Lisbon. Celtic will be happy to get a draw as that takes them close to qualifying. Benfica really must win and I expect them to put the Celtic defence under a lot of pressure. But they need to be wary of Celtic on the counter attack as they have some pace and skill up front which can exploit a team on the break, as was shown in the 2nd goal tonight.
