Controller not working in practice mode

Has anyone heard of or experienced the controller not working ONLY in practice mode? When it goes to kaka on field and then even when I try to select set plays or 1v1 or other practice modes, the controller won't work and I get stuck in practice. Any hints or fixes out there?

what do u mean by stuck?

Game is stuck or is it just controller not responding?

How did u zero in that controller is not working?

Be more specific dude, so that u can expect some help :)

Sorry. I guess I'm not definite that it's the controller... but it works in the menu and it works online and offline games immediately prior to and after trying practice mode. It's just when the pitch comes up for the practice that I can't move the player. I can get the menu up after I'm in practice mode by hitting esc but if i chose 1v1 or some other mode of practice, then I can't get out of there since you have to use the back button (or something like that) to get out... the esc button didn't give me an option to leave (but being stuck isn't really the issue, it's that the controller isn't active in practice mode).

As soon as I get back to menu the controller works and I can immediately go online and play using it. AND I can use it in the pregame warmup session before an offline or online game (which seems like a practice session).

Have you tried changing your arena options: player, stadium, etc.? And do you have any mods installed?

My old Genius controller acted the same way so I got myself a Logitech F510 Rumblepad and that fixed it for me... so I guess some controllers are just not properly recognized by the game

That controller is on the official supported list so it should work fine:

...do you have the most recent drivers as stated?

I believe it is updated. I got the controller new last week and went on the site to update drivers... and it said I was updated. So, I believe I'm good on that one.

ive had this, it only happens in the intro screen.........just switch to the goalie, play a bit, then switch back tothe player.....btw when this happens, ive noticed whe you go to save a tournament or career mode you cant go through settings to do it, you have to do the "quit and save" option......just a heads up

When you start the game from desktop the first thing you must do is to select the language. Don't select the language with keyboard but with your gamepad.
Now your game pad 100% must work
