I'm sure CONMEBOL and FEMEXFUT will find a city in Colombia that complies to hold the matches. ...Cali,Medellin,Cartagena,Barranquilla,Caldas? Caldas, yummy. But like I said, they'll find a city. Tu no te preocupeis vitu.

Yes, I know we, don't belong in any CONMEBOL tournament and this is not the point of discussion. However, if our teams were permitted to participate 11 years ago with all kinds of restrictions for example that (not if but when) (H) a Mexican team should win the Libertadores, the team would be substituted with the sub-champions is understandable since CONMEBOL needs a representative of their confederation at the club WC. Believe me as a fan when I say that simply raising the cup would be satisfactory enough to prove that even when there isn't fair play with our teams (like w/ oneside refs) we'd be able to overcome their boundaries & restraints. History is on our side when I mention the refs (River-Santos; Boca-Pumas; Arsenal-America) some of the more notorious disloyal stabbings, but it really is predictable and somewhat logical since invitees should not come out victorious in enemy territory. Now, this has not always been the case, in '06 Pachuca facing an overwhelming Colo-Colo who was favored to win at home but unfortunately for them (high rankings of CONMEBOL) Pachuca was able to put a smile on our face even when it was the Sudamericana and not the Libertadores they were winning.

And now this, both Guadalajara and San Luis step aside form the tournament induced byt the responce CONMEBOL gave FeMexFut about both Nacional and San Pablo negating to travel to Mexico for fear fo the ongoing epidemic flu virus. From py point of view, the perfect excuse south american teams need because like I said before we don't form part of their confederation and they don't feel obliged to take part and consider this match. This wasnt the end of the soap opera, CONMEBOL later sent another notification pretending that both matches take place but under the condition that the games be celebrated as a (one-match,winner advances) to be played in Monteviedeo and San Pablo.

Fairplay, I ask myself. Both Guadalajara and San Luis refused and FeMexFut suspended any participation of either the NT or teams take part in Copa America, Libertadores and Sudamericana in the near future. This hurts us because we want to compete with south american teams to raise our level of play as well as it affects CONMEBOL where it cripples them more, thier pockets. It's no secret why we were permitted to join these tournaments, the sponsors and gainings from tv are largely driven by Mexican participation and when we consider the large population in the US watching these it gives me at least a clear pathway why this won't be the end of the conflict. If the CONMEBOL wants us to keep contributing and playing their events then I pray that FeMexFut clearly states that we want fairplay in all aspects of the game referee wise and everything else that implies the word fairplay.

I personally just feel that we haven't been treated equally and I throughly support the actions taken forth by our mafia, err I mean FeMexFut. Let me just end this petition by saying:

El valiente vive hasta que el cobarde quiere...

if I were into a position to decide for the Mexican sides, I'd play the one match away from home. You see, Sao Paulo and the Uruguayan side would have to go all out attack, which would leave them vulnerable to counter attacking. Better than just stepping out of the tournament.

**** that! I would do what they did. Show some dignity and self respect. Bc it's obvious that CONMEBOL doesn't care about the Mexican teams. They just care about the money the Mexican teams in Copa Libertadores and Sudamerica provide.

Also, while i agree CONMEBOL just want the Mexican teams at Libertadores because of the money they provide, the more they play more money and TV audience they will provide aswell, so from a financial point of view, the forfeiting of the matches by Mexican teams is not profitable at all for the CONMEBOL.

Ha! Yesterday 'grupo bancario de Santander' sent a notice to CONMEBOL saying they want the Mexican teams to keep participating in the tournaments and if all goes well in the upcoming meetings, we should be able to negotiate a better treatment now that they aknowledge they can't keep ignoring and discouting our teams.

You just wait 'till CONMEBOL invites MLS teams...

Come on, you'll be jubilant when your team embarrasses them. Say you wouldn't enjoy that, or am I the only one who hates americans? :(

I am more than pleased with the outcome handed down in consequence for the future participation of Mexican teams (as well as the NT in Copa America) in the upcoming Libertadores/Sudamericana competitions. Aside from regaining the spots for Mexico 1,2,3 in Libertadores, both San Luis and Chivas maintain their place in the 2010 Libertadores by automatically advancing past the stage group. The advantages of having numerous sponsors in the competition I tell my self, eventhough I think that without a doubt we inject quality futbol to the tournaments. Simply because both enteties have something to gain from each other (better competiton and monetary gains) I think we have earned the right to keep participating regardless what my Latin American brothers express otherwise. To quote the great philosophers of our time "Don't Playa' Hate, Appreciate!"

Estudiantes vs. Cruzeiro, the final. It should be a good matchup considering these two teams already face each other in the group stages with each getting a convincing win at home Estudiantes 4-0 and Cruzeiro 3-0. I'm taking Cruzeiro's side just for the sake of it, may the truely best team win.

Come on Cruzeiro!!
It will be a very tough match for both teams. But I hope Cruzeiro will be able to win for the 3rd time the Copa Libertadores.
