Counter-Strike 1.6 Non Steam Download

I have Half-Life Generations, which includes Counter-Strike and I played 1.5 for ages. Then Steam took over the WON servers and now run the CS 1.6 servers. Almost everyone I know can't connect to the Steam servers, either because they are on a LAN connection, or there CD-key has been stolen, cancelled, or not registered on the Steam servers.

But, after some browsing, I found out that there are CS downloads where you don't need to connect to the Steam servers :D, it's perfectly legal, all it is, is a modded CS 1.6 and is available on various websites. I'll give you a couple of websites where you can find out more information and download links :D

http://cs.rin.ru/eng/ - go to forums, they have all the information you need, I found this helpful when I needed to know how to create a dedicated server.


http://www.cs-nonsteam.tk/- here you can you can download another modded non steam cs 1.6 version. This download is 419mb, you can be agent smith, have two machine guns and blood squirting out when you are low on energy, but I recommend the other modded version.

Ok below are direct links to the modded games:

http://www.game.primorye.ru/files/cs/client/cs16full_v9.exe - This is the full game patched up to V9. V13 is the latest one but the links are down, I have V9 and as long as you install the following patches there will be no problem.

http://game.oxid.cz/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=5 - This is patch 15, once you installed CS 1.6 V9, install this patch.

http://mbnet.fi/tenhor/cs16patch_full_v17.exe - 17 patch, install this after you installed the V15 patch.

http://cs.ns.ultra-gamers.com/cs16patch_full_V17B.exe -install this after you installed patch 17.

Now after you done this you will need to download this:

http://www.csservers.nm.ru/ - follow the instructions by clicking help-open help file, it has a demonstration and is idiot proof. What this does is find all the non steam servers and add them to your favorites. NOTE: You can only play CS from on the servers in your favorites list.

After you have done all that you can play CS 1.6 :D To make a dedicated server is easy, but you need to download a couple of things for that, all information will be in the forums.

You don't need the game or CD-Key, they are cracked servers. Steam is down yet again (no suprise), bunch of tossers.

You know what the worst part is? Half-Life 2 and Counterstrike 2 are gonna be on Steam too. And I read somewhere there might even be a monthly fee to play on Steam by then.

Install that patch ^^^^^ mate, it's patch 18B and it is the only patch you need because all the past patch updates 15,17 and 17b are included in 18B.

By the way, if anyone keeps getting booted from a server, make sure you have Cheating-Death installed and running when you try and connect to a server. You can get the latest version of C-D from here: http://www.unitedadmins.com/cdeath-dl.php

No. Some servers require Cheating-Death, if you don't have it you will get booted from most servers. It's a program that prevents you from using cheats and it tells the server you are joining that you have C-D running therefore you aren't cheating.

Anyway people I got good news. After browsing around I came across a thread that explains a way of connecting to Steam servers without a CD-KEY. So now I no longer play on Non-Steam servers, but the real official Steam servers. Link to the thread below, if you have any questions just ask here.
