Brilliant performance from the Aussies so far. England bowling and batting leaving a lot to be desired. Thought Cook showed some steel yesterday playing the only we he can.

Definite captains knock, if him and Root go easily next innings there is no chance for a draw I'd say

LOL! Pakistan rips Sri Lanka apart, Match interrupts due to crowd disturbance. An example of terrible sportsman spirit. SHAME on the home team. Delete my comment if it is racist in any means, but this is the truth. No hard feelings.

That's not racist. You're bagging a crowd out for poor sportsmanship. Nothing to do with race

f*cking England ... way to let me down ... :kader:
That second innings was terrible. That's the type of stuff Australia go in the sub continent. Nothing worse than seeing a side essentially not have a go.

At least Pakistan qualified for the CT 2017. We lie in 8th place.(not very glamorous tough).
Just have to hold on till september.

Our batting has been appalling.

When the going gets tough, our batsmen show time and time again that we get out. We've shown it time and time again. We're a team of flat track bullies.

I've also been saying for ages that Smith isn't a 3. He's a freak batsmen, and will score runs anywhere, but he is a middle order player - not a 3. Coming in after Rogers and Warner already had plenty on the board was easy - but the few times he's been tested as a true 3, against a new ball, he's failed. He should be at 4 and Clarke 5. My concern is that I'm not sure Shaun Marsh is the man for 3 either - in any case Marsh will be picked for the next test (but likely at 5).

I get sick of our batsmen doing this away from home, whenever conditions are a little hard. I wonder if it's a Gen Y thing (even though I'm Gen Y), that they're not willing to score hard runs. If it's tough conditions they try to play their normal games and get out playing silly shots that don't suit the conditions. Perhaps it's not a Gen Y thing, perhaps it's just the minimal amount of Shield cricket played these days (and when it is played, it's given bugger all recognition and is played on pitches made to get results in 4 days). Perhaps it's the amount of T20 and 50 over cricket played these days and the emphasis it's given (though loads of nations could use that excuse). Whatever the reason it's not good enough. We need 6 Chris Rogers'. Guys willing to knuckle down and work for their runs. Nevill has been that guy at Shield level - hopefully he scores runs tonight.

We don't have a middle order specialist batsman either (unless you include Smith) Clarkes done, Voges failed, everyone in the wings is either a one day player or t20 like you said

Clarke isn't done. He's only 34. When M Hussey was 34 he averaged low 20s for around 10 tests in a row. 34 isn't that old for a batsman.

He's out of form, not done.

Nah, I think it will be Ponting all over again

Ponting? He retired at 38...So I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Ponting is also a very different style batsman to Clarke. Clarke is closer to Hussey. Ponting was always nippy early. Steve Smith will be more likely to follow the Ponting path.

After 4 years of playing crap with the odd big score to keep his spot - Clarke's future

Na, he was only bad his last two years...and even then it isn't helped by the type of player he was.

I'm more concerned about Clarke because he's never seemed to have had the love for the game that Hussey and Ponting (and that generation) had. I'm sure he enjoys it, and enjoys winning, but he has always been likely to retire early, so maybe this is the beginning of the end. I can imagine he's likely to believe the hype.
