for teamstadiumlinks table is good( identical table)
for formation table is different but
I do not know if it's 15 going on 16
for testing I've done, I copy a line and change id team and this job well

Download CG File Explorer 16 v0.6 and open it up and locate your FIFA 16 main directory.

Once you have done that, you will see a list on the left hand side and click on data_startup and then on the cross, then go down to where it says db and again click on the cross and then tick the 2 boxes fifa_ng_db.db and fifa_eng_db-meta.xml, then click on Extract Selected (It will extract it to the main fifa 16 folder) once located, highlight them both and cut.

Now go to the Data folder and create a db folder, then just paste the 2 files into the db folder. Open CG File Explorer again and click on Regenerate All and its done.

You can now use DB Master to edit the files

After doing the above, game doesn`t use my edited db, tried resetting squads etc, any help much appreciated.

I'm experimenting the same unfortunately.
No way to solve it. Edited the database over years for myself and everything was Always fine. But this year no.
Which OS do you use ? I think there's something wrong with Win10 and NET FREMEWORK libraries..

I saved, closed and then regenerated. Now every time I try to start up FIFA 16 the game crashes. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the quick reply mate. I did use DBM to edit the tables. I extracted the BIG with File Explorer and then did the editing inside DBM.

Okay sorry, I'll have to re-read your post, I'm unclear what you're having an issue with.

Well it's just that after editing the transfer budget and stadium assignment with DBM I saved, regenerated and now the game crashes every time I try to load it. I was wondering if I'd missed something?

Okay... you can do all that without File Explorer, just edit the tables with DBM/Excel and that's it. But it sounds like you're trying to extract the db files (?). I think the db files are encrypted this year, I downloaded one of the decrypted dbs here, and now editing works fine.

I see. I read earlier in this post you had to decrypt the DB first. That's maybe what's caused the issue. So I should really just ignore File Explorer, get a decrypted DB from here, paste it over the original and edit that?

If this is the case is there any chance you could point me in the direction of a decrypted DB?

EDIT: Sorry I found an updated DB. I re-installed FIFA 16 from scratch to get it working again but there are no database files in the FIFA16/Data folder. Do I definitely not need to extract a BIG file?

Second edit: Sorry for another update but I've figured out what's causing the crash. When I extract the BIG with File Explorer, even if I don't edit the DB, as soon as I regenerate it the game no longer works. I need to find out how to access the DB with extracting the BIG via File Explorer I think.

That's correct, you don't need File Explorer if all you're doing is editing the db. Download someone's db files, place them in a folder named db, then place that folder in the data folder. BlackEmporor uploaded a db with the latest roster moves, that's probably a good one to download.

I downloaded one of the decrypted dbs here, and now editing works fine.

can you edit all the tables in the DB, reason I ask editing the player table ratings with DB12 they save and work fine in game , but editing teamplayerlinks (position) saves but doesn't show in game neither does team table ccshooting show in game.

in earlier fifa 13/14/15 never had any problems.

If you are trying to change teams' lineups in the teamplayerlinks table, you also have to assign the same lineup changes (position# and playerID, plus kicktakers and captain) to the default_teamsheets table. Edit the defaultteamdata table to change team tactics (as I recall, I edited tactics a couple weeks ago).

EA is trying so hard to make the game difficult to edit, lol.

Open the db with DB Master.
Export all tables into an empty folder.
Open the players table using Excel.
Edit player values.
Import the table back into the db.

That is the process. You don't "export excel" or use "sql tables" or whatever you are trying to do.
