I don't know what it could depend on. Maybe the strings just ran out. Or the database has been corrupted. An ID that messes everything up? can be many things. At the moment everything I've done again has all languages working. I posted the 99-00 teams in English while I work on the Italian database. then I fix each language later.

I can officially confirm you that there is a limitation on language db files. I did small test today morning before work and here's what I did

Step 1
reopen last save, add english names for Copa America 21 teams, (10 teams names), save
when reopening the eng.db was again smashed down

Step 2
open last save eng.us, deleted around 50-60 lines with only 15 chars teams names from original EA teams id between 111100 and a few more 111300 I think.
save eng.db

Step 3
reopen this reduced (very small amount of lines then), rename again all Copa America 21 10 teams in english, save.

Now it's not more smashed down and opens properly, using same ids of course.

I can not determinate exactly if it's an amount of entry limit reached or size in kb, but when deleting some unused lines, then it keeps working.

Sorry but I only made the suggestion that if you could take into consideration more teams from England and Spain as it is obvious that being Italian you have added many teams from Italy and you are ignoring teams from the 5 big leagues in Europe. Regarding your satirical message I read what you said but I still say that you think you have a lot of credibility and maybe you should have a little more humility.
So much that you pretend to read about the history of football and you are supposed to know about the great teams that have existed in the last century, it shows that you don't know much because you are leaving out of the project great Hungarian teams that have left a mark in the history of this sport such as Ferencvaros from 1947 to 1950 and Ujpest Dozsa from 1950 to 1954 being champions of their respective leagues of their country and having renowned players of the era of the 50s.

We are talking about years prior to the European Cup competition which was founded in 1955 but that does not mean that you have to leave them out. They could perfectly well be included in the 5-year teams belonging to the years 1945-1950 and 1950 to 1955

I have projects to carry out that have been explained thousands of times. I know what's missing but I also have a life and other priorities. I have plans. It's 5.04 am and I'm working on the patch to add UCL 2000-01 teams that frankly don't even interest me. I don't fucking work, I don't fucking add anything. I have a plan to add every Series A from 1929-30 to 1999-00. Because? Because I am italian! If I had been English there would have been more English teams, it seems normal to me. I have the UCL project and am completing it. I have the project for the expansion of the World Cup and perhaps the European ones with the unqualified ones and I am carrying it out slowly. Do you know what it means to make a new team, perhaps in the 90s and 2000s? It means having kits and kits do not rain from the sky. Do you know what it's like to add a 50s team? It means sifting through dozens of sites, hoping that they do not close as it has been happening to me lately with www.foradejogo.net, cross-referencing data and hoping to pull out a squad of at least 25 players. There are some people provoking and annoying all the time. Maybe there is any chance to ask admins to block them possibility to post comments on specific threads like this one. Like view only access for unregistered. I see them spamming all the time. Or maybe we can add that f***ing Bilbao?

let's see, maybe it's more a amount of lines, or a wrong id that corrupts only language files... my eng.db was at 3901 kb, that's over yours but above some from others languages..seems that it's more going to tend towards amount of lines or corrupt id.. (maybe reserved?) let's see

until that error appears to me I don't know what it could be. String limit? In the ENG I think there are 60,000. Any rogue IDs? Probable, but which one? For that I am doing the tongues in blocks of 3-4 teams at a time. To figure out what ID it might be (if the ID is causing this problem) or the database has been corrupted because a lot of data has been added all at once. I often get it with normal database. If I add CMPs with entire leagues then the database breaks ... there can be many things.

it can not be a corruption because when I take back the backup, it works fine, nothing is imported except team names for 10 teams and after it saves but is broken

if it's a id problem then it can only concern league ID 1103 or 1104, team ids 121947 until 121956, or stadium ID between ID 312 until 317, that reduce the span

I'm more for string limit since when deleting around 100 original teams lines from EA, it's working perfectly using same IDS for added thingss

@GIGGIRIVA a confirmation: it was well a string limitation, I had a few more than 65000 lines in eng db, now I deleted more than 3000 lines (all FUT) lines and it gives me around 500 new teams names spaces

I will have to consider how to do it in the future. delete those strings for each database or recreate it from scratch for each decade. The first seems the most comfortable. I take it off and go on, but I am subject to future limitations. The second would become problematic when I add stadiums and balls. Those tables, those elements, are present in every database. That would mean updating every language (16) for every decade database (12 currently) 16x12 = 192 times for every stadium or ball ... a pretty fucking pain ...
