@ACICOG i noticed the game folder has 60 GBs and i was thinking maybe we can save some space in the future.
for example StadiumGBD folder has 20 GBs - here i dont think we can do much
BUT
sceneassets folder has 26 GBs with kits folder counting half of them (13.5 GBs)

in the kits folder most of the rx3 have 2-3 MB each
but there are a few which have 8, 10, 27 even 58 MB.... and i think thats a lot
same case for some face_textures and hair_textures
I was thinking maybe there is a way to reduce the size of the textures without losing (too much) quality?
i know we cant save much GBs of space but we can use it better by adding faces or other things
i noticed this when i wanted to add more variations to Fernando Torres, for example he used mohawk for WC 2006 and 2010, long hair for euro 2008,2012 and CC 2009, and short hair for CC 2013 and WC 2014 but that would mean to use a lot of space by copying same face 2-3 times.
same things happens when i assigned managers and GIGGI was right about wasting space with them (although i find it a nice feature)
the ideal way would be to do all of this with a lua system, assigning a face by year or something, but im not sure if its possible.
anyway will be also nice to save some space if you plan to add more decades in the future (2000s/80s/70s)

Reduce space is always a very good idea
The only problem is That it should be make sure that we don’t lose quality

yeah well, for example a face has good quality when the overall resemblance is good both mesh and texture, instead of heaving a a bad face texture but 4096x4096 which has a lot of MBs... thats not quality for me.
same for kits, they can have default size 1024x1024 or 2048x2048 and look good not pixelated... i dont think its really necessary to have kits 4096x4096 because it has way too much MBs.
what im saying its you dont really need high size to have high quality in game.

I want to thank everyone who is supporting the development of the patch by sending me so much material. As you know we always try to check it first and then put it in the patch (also in CP14) and in the last month many of you have sent me a lot of things to check. I wanted to do a release of Update 2.1 at the beginning of September but between my job and all this new material everything slowed down.

I will suspend these entries to speed up the release of Update 2.1.

I don't know if you have this feature in CP16, but in CP14 Scouser developed a feature for RM14 that allows face-to-year assignment with that face also being used for the next 4 years unlessa new one is assigned.

The origin of this system was with Sputnik bootpack but it also works for faces, hair, gloves.

E.g. in my game Drogba has long hair by default, but then hair_drogbaID_2009 file appears and it is used for any team Drogba plays in if such team has setTeamYear(teamID,2009) string in its lua file.
So Chelsea 2009-10, Ivory Coast 2010, Chelsea 2010-11 etc all have Drogba with a ponytail, and then it is assigned again for 2013 (which makes it applicable till 2017).

just saw this now, aparently after you edit the post and reply me it doesnt give me any notification.

i think it does the same thing, just saves 3-4 years... but if ye used different hair in euro2008, cc2009 and wc2010 you have to do it every year so its the same...

Yes but copying the files 3 times over the course of 12 years is better than 12 times + summer tournaments.
From what I understand according to Scouser, 4 years 'memory' is the best F14 can handle without crashing.

Well yes if a player has a new haircut each season, there is no simpler way than assigning it to each season.

However, I love the "Sputnik" system for "assign and forget" type of situations: Pirlo grew out a beard in 2014? Just assign pirlo_hair_2014 and forget, he'll be bearded until the end of his career.
