I have played fifa15 for 5 years now, but as I has finished long career in fifa15 I wanted to switch to more fresh fifa17-21.
Background: In fifa15 it was easy to modify gameplay through cl.ini file with just a few params, you for example apply great DOCTOR+ FIDEL gameplay patch and then tuned it to your needs with just a few parameters, for example:
1.) change ADAPTIVE_DIFFICULTY_INCREASE_DIFFICULTY, ADAPTIVE_DIFFICULTY_DECREASE_DIFFICULTY codes RULEx_PARAMx, RULEx_OUTPUTx etc. example:
//WHEN <2 SHOTS BY 35 MINUTE decrease gameplay by -0.2
RULE4_PARAM1 = 2
RULE4_PARAM2 = 35
RULE4_OUTPUT = -0.2
2.) increase values for tackle so that it will be easier for you to tackle ball from cpu
SLIDING_TACKLE=10
STANDING_TACKLE=10
3.) decrease or increase (I don't remember) mental aggression when cpu tackle ball from you too often and you cannot dribble with Messi 2-3 cpu players.
MENTAL_AGGRESSION=126
4.) You can modify cpuAI difficulty, for example set offense level to 4, deffense to 2.
CPUAI_DEFENSE_DIFFICULTY=2
CPUAI_OFFENSE_DIFFICULTY=2
And there were 2-3 more settings (I don't remember, game speed). And to summarize having gameplay patch from community like for FIFA15 Fidel gameplay patch You can tune a few parameters to your needs and you have wonderful gameplay which doesn't boring you for 5 years, every match is challenge you can won, lost with poor team depends on day form/luck like in real life.
Can we change setting for adaptive gameplay, tackle range, cpu aggression in more fresh fifa17-21? Because I heard various opinion. Somebody wrote it is possible in initfs_Win32 file as found the above codes, but when I saw Paulv2k4 locale.ini settings I didn't see the above codes, so maybe it is not possible? I don't have fifa to check so can somebody who has fifa21 put in locale.ini for test purpose those opcodes and give feedback if gameplay was changed to much easier one:
