Editor Question.

I have just purchased the Game and want to alter the names of 4 players in my chosen team to those of my Grandsons. Having done this I thought I had saved the database correctly but when I loaded the Game to play and chose the team there was no mention of the altered names.

Can someone please spare the time to describe what action I should take when the alterations have been made to the selected Team in the Editor as I have obviously gone wrong somewhere.

Thanks.

Well, there is a thing when you "Write current database" after you are done editing, you'll need to hit that. What I keep track of (to make sure I haven't made a mistake) is the total number of countries there SHOULD be on the vanilla database (the one you're editing).

For example. I always add rich depth to Ireland to make them a semi-dominant force that can (sometimes) stand up to England. After doing this make sure when you write the database that you have all countries finished just as in the prior vanilla version.

Before editing;
61 countries (followed by a list of the countries in game)
After editing;
If something had gone wrong with my Irish Edit, it would read 60, instead of 61. So I know where my problem lies. Usually if it is something you did, it prompts you with a "You screwed up" box, and you either click change or ignore.

ONE MORE THING! If you are starting a new game, make sure you are using the CUSTOM database before launch.

Now, I usually revamp entire countries so I dont know if this will help, but it might be the issue.

I'm sort of new to the editor but Ive been playing with it more and more, so I hope this helps! Nice to see some older fellows playing games.

When editing I click on the write current database tab and then save the file. If you have edited names you will have to start a new game.
