COME ON EDUARDO!

MILAN - Eduardo Da Silva has broken his left leg in the match against Birmingham today, as reported by the BBC. The Rossoneri's family wishes the Arsenal striker all the best and a quick return to playing.

What a class team!!! Much respect to the Rossoneris

Huge respect to Milan for that.

It was bound to happen, the skilled players in this league don't get enough protection I'm surprised Helb is still has ankles, teams think they can kick Arsenal off the park and get the result. No doubt he didn't intend to but he was trying to stamp a physical authority on the game early on he just got it terribly wrong.

"He felt guilty, not bad"? How the fu<k would you know. You never even heard of Taylor until today.

Emte.....don't be a prat mate.

Studs-first tackles are fu*king retarded anyways, and this shows why. :( Harsh, HARSH ban required.

Terrible thing to happen to Eduardo. However, that's not the worst tackle I've ever seen by some distance, but the pics make it look horrific. Hope he gets well soon as he's clearly an excellent player.

If Eduardo is looking for a role model on his recovery it's Henrik Larsson, who suffered a shocking leg break and came back even better than before.

Forza Suarez! (ps brotha can you spare a dime?)
Oh man that is horrific, hope the poor fella recovers and comes back better than before. Bad timing on my part that I clicked on this thread while I was eating dinner.

Ok I never said I knew what was on his mind, but clearly if you watch the video and pictures you can see the man's face...I also know that as a defender (because like most people here I play the game and have for many years) if you go into a tackle studs up, you probably want one of three things A. To hurt the guy. B. To put a physical mark in the game by letting him know he cant just prance around the field at will or C. You are trying to break the flow of play....YOU ARE ALMOST NEVER TRYING TO GET THE BALL

as I said I dont think he meant to hurt the guy; but he did it and he felt guilty (I make that deduction based on his facial expressions after the tackle and during the time he received his red card) he realized he made a huge mistake in trying to go studs first and there you have it the rest is history......

Wow and I thought blowing a knee out sucked, damn. I also don't care what anyone says, there is no reason to go into a tackle the way Taylor did...and in the 3rd minute of the game. Hopefully they give him a longer ban so he can think twice about doing such a tackle again.

well, for the English game there's a term of getting stuck in and imposing your authority on other players who you think is a threat to your team, its just Taylor getting stuck in but it went horribly wrong, but i don't think it ever occurred to him(IMHO) that he would break Eduardo's leg and i'm saying this cause i've seen loads of horrible tackles before but can't help feel sorry for Eduardo since he's one of the few to come off with a horrible injury, if he went off the tackle scott-free, i think few would even be debating about this tackle.....

remember guys, sometimes its just unfortunate that things like these happen and i'm gutted since i really would've like to see him at the Euro 2008 but now i can't, i have no doubt that he will recover soon, there's enough people around him at Arsenal and Croatia that will support him....
As for Taylor, i expect the FA would ban him for an extra few games since it was also unfortunate for HIM that things turned out like this.....

all the best to Eduardo, i'm sure he's strong enough to deal with this, like i said he's still young and since the injury is a broken foot, he's got a lot of time to recover in his career, the only downside is that he'll miss this season and also the Euro 2008 as well as portion of next season.......

That is also what I think happened but I hate that ****, even if it does not cause an injury, it's still stupid as hell IMO. I just think it needs to stop because than evetually **** like this happens.

I must say at first I was critical of Arsenal supporters responses, but when I imagine what my reaction to something like that happening to Ronaldo or Anderson would be... I can relate to Arsenal fans.

I think the saddest thing is that the actual tackle was not as bad as other tackles I've seen. I've seen some two-footed challenges which are much worse and if any player deserves a lifetime ban it should be someone who has attempted a two-footed challenge. Its unfortunate that this one which was not as bad has caused such a serious injury.

Also, I don't usually cringe when I see pictures like this one but when I saw the video footage (on MOtD I think), I felt slightly sick. Do not watch it in slow motion. All the best to Eduardo and I wish him a speedy recovery.

If you're talking intentional studs up, I'd definitely agree. I don't think he was though. I personally have wound up sticking my studs into someone in a very similar manner (he was fine; good enough, in fact to try and get revenge some minutes later), not because I meant to in any way at all, but because I tried to lunge for the ball. Well, instead of kicking it away, the bottom of my foot hit the ball and glanced off - straight into the other guy's shin.
Now, obviously that's not exactly what happened to taylor, but it seems like something similar to me. Desperate, lunging, "I'm already beat but I might catch him as he goes by" kind of tackles accidents waiting to happen, and anyone who's played the game knows it, but sometimes common sense walks out the door when you're on the field. To me Taylor's tackle was clumsy and stupid and fully deserving of punishment, but after he's served his punishment, forgive the man. Believe me, he'll be scared s***less to ever try and take the ball off someone again.

Terrible injury :(...hope he recovers soon and plays again.

It wasnt the worst tackle but it certainly was mistimed and harsh...but there wasnt any malicious intent of breaking the guys leg imo. Taylor should be punished but not with a permanent ban ! I have seen worse tackles go unpunished because it didnt result in any serious injury.

I would say a couple of months off the pitch and paying the medical bills of eduardo should be enough for taylor.

That really is an awful challenge. I wish all the best to Eduardo and I hope he can recover and come back as good as before. About the tackle, I don't think he tried to hurt Eduardo badly, he wanted to stop the attack there, but made two things that made this happen. Firstly, he went in there with his studs up, you can't go in there like that, you're gonna get a red card if you don't get the ball 100%. Secondly, he timed the challenge really badly, he was way too late there and he knew it too, he could only get Eduardo, not the ball, and this is what happens...

He didn't mean to break Eduardo's leg, but I think FA should give him a long suspension and to pay the medical costs to Eduardo, to show some respect for Eduardo and also to show everybody, that if you tackle like that, the tackled guy isn't going to be the only one who's gonna take a rest of being on the pitch.
