EL Final: Atlético - Athletic [P+R]

why did TeleCinco have what sounded like a full panel of commentators call the game together? is that common?

anyway, great goals from Falcao, with his midas touch in the Europa ... Chelsea could use him next season, haha  ...

shame for Athletic ... totally dominated possession, but unfortunately failed to convert their chances ...

It's an Amorebieta disastaaaa. Meh, I thought Bilbao played pretty mediocre and unable to create full chances. They looked insecure and not really sure what they were doing on offense. Besides Falcao's brilliance it wasn't an interesting match from my (neutral) point of view.

Did Athletic HAVE chances? I remember 2-3 shots that went off target, 1 crossbar, and maybe 3 Courtois saves and a bunch of attempts to access the penalty area and fail every single time. Clear example of possession meaning nothing much, Atletico were better in defense, and better in attack. Although I was impressed by Athletic's style, they failed to be dangerous.

And yes, Telecinco use panels, that's usually the case for high-exposure matches on national TV. Don't you understand Spanish?

cool, didn't know ... just found it interesting listening to a bunch of people talking over each other -- wasn't really paying attention till I noticed several overalapping voices during the discussion about how Llorente was impeded in the box, and how that foul would have been called had it been anywhere else on the pitch, or if the forward was the one impeding the defender ...

Athletic looked awful. Had to turn it off at halftime.
they were better in the second half, when Atleti just sat back and absorbed the pressure ...

true, they failed to hit the target often enough, even from inside the box (Llorente in the first half, de Marcos blazing over a couple of times, etc.) ... and they failed to find the killer pass, despite being camped in the final third for so long ...
