Oh and on Farage of course you can question his conviction - Nigel farage only cares about Nigel farage and will use this 'victory' shamelessly for self advancement. Now he's got his way surely his party is now redundant and he should wrap it up and everyone in it should immediately stop asking for donations and receiving salaries right? But watch him try to expand and get himself a parliamentary seat and a seat at the negotiating table (where he has absolutely no right to be) on the back of this, and ask for more donation money from stupid old people to help him 'oversee the transition' (make sure we don't do anything remotely compassionate and hurt the migrant population as vindictively as possible)

Johnson is utterly ruthless and will gut Farage the second it becomes politically expedient. He may hand farage out to dry as the 'nasty side' of brexit in an attempt to appear more moderate and get more support.

And what you said at the end could be correct - please don't think that I am comparing Boris to Churchill, but just like Churchill was dumped by the public resoundingly shortly after he won the way, i suspect Johnson will be PM to oversee brexit and then dumped resoundingly shortly after.

The worst thing is that I've become sympathetic towards them after one black trooper got punched in the face by a neo-nazi at a pub, and the conservatives in the parliament suggested that if they don't want to get beaten up, they should wear their uniforms during their free time as well.

These percentages really mean nothing. There could have been 7 people that voted "Ill" for a certain thing, and 5 of them were leave voters. Splitting it into what they voted without giving proportions or numbers is meaningless.

I really think US politics are more fucked up than British politics. RNC is completely unhinged and insane. Half the fucking country doesn't know much more than "git that negro outta here!" This is without a doubt the closest the US has come to fascism; Trump isn't even hiding it, he talks about religious tests, deporting all Muslims, shutting down borders, deporting natural born citizens, and torture openly and in glowing terms. I honestly wonder if I could serve under him as President.

These parties have to break up. They're literally being held together by hatred of the other party's candidate at this point and that's a recipe for disaster.

Trump's got autocrat written all over (and you're not the only soldier I know who worries about serving under him) him and Hillary is incompetent.

I don't think Hillary is incompetent, she's just a career politician. They're all more or less beholden to special interests and willing to lie for personal advantage. She's a corporatecrat like the last 10 Presidents have been and fully offers a continuation of the status quo.

The one plus was supposed to be that it had rival Ted Cruz and then he used it to stab trump in the back. Good stuff.

We hosted the Democratic one. That's not terribly far from the truth. I can't imagine the GOP one is all that different. They also cost the host city a truckload of money.

That Cruz episode was hilarious. Apparently some Trump donor in the VIP area had to be restrained and Ken Cuccinelli had to escort Heidi Cruz off the floor because a woman tried to fight her. This whole thing is an absolute shitshow. The New York delegation was furious. Also, Cruz is apparently going to primary Trump in 2020 if he wins.
