In the replay i saw Ferreira knee hit Rooney ankle he was in a lot of pain.

stop trying to stirr up hate towards Paulo Ferreira please. He went only for the ball and got it, unfortunately his knee touched Rooney's leg.

It was absolutely casual and very bad luck for for Rooney and England if the injury is serious.

But the play can't even be labelled as a harsh or violent challenge, and we can't even be sure if it was the knee touch or the fall that provoked the injury.

Watched the game and the replays.
It had not much to do with Ferreira, don't blame him.

Rooney landed awkwardly on his right foot

foocking hell!
People who are trying to blame Ferreira need a reality check. There might be precedents between these two teams, but no matter what he went for AND WON the ball! Whatever happened after when bodies collide is bad luck.

I, for one, will be gutted if Rooney misses the WC, but shit happens.

Anyway congrats to Chelsea, they have some wankers in their team, but also have some true champions.

Agreed. This was a legit tackle that had an unfortunate aftermath, it certainly wasn't another ugly Duscher-Beckham situation from years ago..

Anyhow, Rooney is a tough son of a bitch, I'm sure he'll be at the WC. I think it would suck for all fans of the game not to have one of the most promising players at the tournament, like him or not. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this WC ends up being a true showcase of the world's talent, unlike the last WC where there were some key teams/players missing and most of the favourites out early.

Wow, what a great match by Chelsea, I'm kind of sad/ashamed of saying this, but: Congrats Chelsea!:) Hopefully ManUtd crashes in the last 2 matches so that Liverpool can take the silver-medal!:D

As long as Rooney is back for next season that is all i'm interested in. Rooney playing for Man Utd is more important. Or maybe to the rival fans who pretend to hate him its more important for the international side.

Silver medal doesnt mean much. The aim is to win the league. That is what Utd should be doing. Nobody remembers second. They only remember champions. Liverpool havent shown that they deserve 2nd place. Utd havent shown that they deserve to win the title either. We should be topping the table! Thats the aim.

What about the CL? if Liverpool finish 2nd they don't need to qualify for the CL, they automatically get a place in the Group stage, am i right? If they end 3rd or 4th they will have to qualify..:) Therefore it also is important to get the 2nd place, knowned as the Silver medal:)

The Barclay's Premierleague bronze medal is good enough for Liverpool
No, it's not, what's good enough for Liverpool is a Gold medal, unfortunately (SPELLING!) that is not possible, therefore, SILVER is what Liverpool deserve!:D(H)

Lol, I was trying to be funny, but in retrospect completely messed up the joke. Should have been:

'That is correct ... apart from the "knowned" bit'.
