In Martin Pieckenhagen heeft Heracles Almelo een verrassende nieuwe keeper aangetrokken. De 33-jarige Duitser begon een jaar geleden nog het seizoen als eerste goalie bij Hamburger SV.
Op enkele details na is de overgang afgerond. Heracles Almelo hoeft geen afkoopsom te betalen voor Pieckenhagen, die overbodig was geworden bij Hamburger SV. Afgelopen seizoen raakte de ervaren goalie eind februari zijn plaats onder de lat kwijt aan Stefan Wächter. Met de overgang naar Heracles wil de 33-jarige doelman een einde maken aan zijn rol op het tweede plan.

'Ik heb hier geen kans meer geregeld te spelen', vertelde Pieckenhagen op de website van Hamburger SV. 'Heracles heeft moeite gedaan mij te halen. Ik ga erheen als duidelijke nummer één en zal eindelijk weer aan spelen toekomen.'

Nico Jan Hoogma heeft een rol gespeeld bij het aantrekken van Pieckenhagen. De verdediger van Heracles speelde bij HSV drie jaren samen met de keeper. 'Nico en ik hebben over telefoon met elkaar gesproken. Hij heeft me al veel over de club. Ik ga ervanuit dat ik me zeer goed zal voelen in Almelo', aldus Pieckenhagen

There are only a few details that need to be worked on. Pieckenhagen doesnt want to be on the bench at HSV, where he lost his place in februari 2005 to Wächter.

Pieckenhagen stated on the HSV website that he wouldnt get playing time at HSV, he says at Heracles he will be #1 goalie.

Nico Jan Hoogma, defender of Heracles and ex-defender of HSV, was a factor in the transfer. He played 3 years with Pieckenhagen.

Never heard of the guy, played in the Brazilian second division, but did win the Brasilian cup.

I dont understand why PSV buys that much midfielders, Vogel and Van Bommel could easily have been replaced by Lucius and De Jong... Now we also have Simons, Ferreyra, Vayrynen and that guy for midfield.

He's a great team player, I've heard, and very versatile; he can play everywhere from defensive mid to striker. Don't know much about his technique and tactical play.

It's not a done deal yet anyway. Although he's very keen on joining PSV, there's still 10 Brazilian and 2 or more other European teams after him.

Good news for PSV, Vennegoor of Hesselink extended his contract with 2 seasons It would first expire in 2006, now in 2008.

De kans lijkt groot dat PSV het nog voor het begin van de competitie ook zonder z'n tweede Koreaan Young-Pyo Lee zal moeten doen. Hij gaat waarschijnlijk zijn landgenoot Ji-Sung Park achterna naar Manchester United, zo meldt het Eindhovens Dagblad.
Het management van PSV bevestigt noch ontkent de berichten van een mogelijk vertrek van Lee naar Old Trafford, waar Park twee weken geleden een tweejarig contract tekende. Een week geleden zou de Eindhovense club nog een bod van AS Monaco op Lee hebben afgeslagen.

Overigens verscheen trainer Guus Hiddink toch op de eerste training van de Eindhovense club. Gisteren bracht PSV nog naar buiten dat hij de eerste training zou moeten missen omdat hij in het buitenland zou zitten.

De supporters konden donderdagochtend drie nieuwe gezichten op de training begroeten: Mika Väyrynen (SC Heerenveen), Timmy Simons (Club Brugge) en Osmar Ferreyra (CSKA Moskou).

Anyways we also have some problems(left-back and left-winger) I just hope Blind buys atleast one guy for the left-back position. Cause Lindenbergh and Vermaelen are just not good enough(on that position) and Emanuelson hasn't grown enough yet. Maybe Escude?
