goes w/ tactical awareness attribute which is the players awareness of where he needs to be in a tactical situation.

Supposed to be on attack & on defense. I really don't understand why EA gave only to attacking players an high value for positioning

actualy no my friend, visiom is the ability, the awareness of players to read/"predict" whiat is going on around him, offensively and defensively.

positioning is usefull for defenders only when they are attacking, in corners/fouls.

all this was the case for FIFA 11, im prety sure same goes for 12

I read your list of traits for players In Fifa 12 . Good post.
What do you think you will be able to do with db? Which part of the games can really be improved with a modded db? For example you can reach a smart AI on defense. how can you do this?

me...? i didnt post any list...

i have already reach a smart defence AI for user teams ;) with a combination of db editing, sliders and controller settings, you will feel you have again your defence under your control, i've made cpu shoots more long shots, a single player of cpu to not hold the ball for an eternity, etc.

Sorry Erevos I Have another question :
I think that this year in FIFA , precision dribbling is more powerful then tactical defending especially when you play offline. CPU is very weak when they have to tacle you.
Could you fix that? It's too easy to dribble through the defenders also without a superstar player.Do you agree?

Hm yes but i think now that i have some reports from the testers that in my patch CPU defence is hard.

In general, CPU's Tactical Defence, force you to just dribble, through passes are unrealistic hard, same goes if you want to attack from the wings.

Through passes on the whole are useless this year imo.

The through balls on FIFA are always in straight line, unlike Pro Evo, I haven't been able to do swerve through ball/swerve lofted through ball. Even with passers like Xavi, Iniesta or Snejider.

On Pro Evolution that's what makes great player stand out is how he controls the ball or how his passes vary. FIFA imo is still miles away from this level of small details.

Nonevertheless, Erevos is working his heart out for us this year again. Be patient and you'll be rewarded with something v. v. good ;)

AI much better than original! i see more variation of attack and more smart of defending , the game isnt insane anymore and more fun! but i think its still have a bug, first when young tryin to beat kelly with his skill moves and he do it in front of Kelly, after young finishing his skill moves, kelly with easily can get the ball from him, second i think the ai more loved to do crossing attack, its good, but if too monoton its so bored because you will know what will happen next, third the AI more loved to do short pass than lob pass, it will be more fun if in your gameplay the ai do lob pass, but overall, this is great!

My first match, ill update later :munch:

My first goal was to fix our teammate AI in defence, and add some variaty in CPU attacks, to shoot, i believe first beta had great success in those areas.

I'll do my best, but FIFA 12 in general has some serious issues

Ok, first thoughts I have after playing 5 games or so,

AI in defense is much better now. I mean not CPU AI defense but my team. Dunno maybe it's due to that I use my own custom tactic, but defo an improvement .

Player position themselves MUCH better in attack. No longer have I got to wait for fecking player to make run so I can pass to him or slow down the tempo! Another plus .

AI now finally attacks and scores goals. Not sweaty goals, but some brilliant ones. Though I did see them make skill moves in ridiculous moments, but I doubt that's so easily fixable.

Oh yeh, dunno if you altered players this year, but I don't see C. Ronaldo being Pace rape player anymore xD. Which is nice and annoying, but hell, makes things more interesting then just running past whole defense .

So far I don't see a thing I dislike. Maybe a bit high passing ratio from AI? They rarely make mistakes. But at the same time I saw them make mistakes when recieving the ball (pushing the ball too far out ).

So going to play some more .

So far it's 9 out of 10 for me.

You may feel like I hyped it a little, but believe me I did not.

FIFA has a lot of issues this year and some stuff I don't really like (Sliders! which seem to ruin all custom/human made tactics wrrrrr).

Others points i see that need to be fixed. At least, in legendary and professional, the cpu attacks or defends with more players on the play than user's team. Cpu forwaders rarely goes to offside position. User's teams never atacks with more than 2 or 3 players.
You are correct erevos, Legacy defending is not perfect yet but much better than tactical.

@Regularcat: Can be fixed the set pices for the corner kick, its is completily unrealistic.

I will pm you about the testing, in beta you will see you will have much more support from your teammates!

Yes @Regularcat has done a great work about set pieces, But most in corners ETGD latest version for FIFA 11 was great too..

Tactical Defence is a great idea, very bad implemented...

Hi erevos, my first feedback.

The game is much better now. user's teamattes on the play increased.
I feel that the cpu try to shoot more in front of the box, that´s good but the frequency at long distancies could be decreased. More details in the next days.

Trying to do some tweaks with sliders and what I know now is: the EA gameplay make the team who is attacking faster than who is defending. Even when the players has the ball on his feet, he is faster than defensive players, and actually in the real soccer only messy do this with accurancy, but with precise dribling almost player can do it. To improved the difficult at professional and legendary the gameplay give more speed and frequency to cpu than user. Using the first and second sliders with run frequency I could reproduced with my team the same situation that i see when i'm defending against cpu. my forwaders like usain bolt against slowers defenders.

Erevos, did you feel that? if it yes, what could be done in in your gameplay?
