To tell you the truth, Ramos really wasn't that good. He played 2 or 3 great matches, but especially in the group stage, he was way off his usual level. He made more mistakes than normally and couldn't provide much. In the semis he really stepped up and carried his performance through in the final, despite his error in the first moments.

Well, I don't really follow 'em much at club level, so I don't have much to go by interms of comparisons, but I felt that he was dynamite for the most part in this tournament. He made it a point of pride to take on the opposition's supposed best attacker and just went at 'em relentlessly the entire match.....I respect that a lot about 'em....he's generally got a warrior's spirit.

Also, he's a damn SEXY BEAST! I have a lot of special feelings for him....down there.

Ramos was at one point a forward and he says his dream is to play DM for one game. In the last two games he showed his better level and he's usually very consistent with us so I dont really know why he started out the tournament so bad...anyway...he stepped up and I believe that showed in the Spanish backline, more secure less prone to let in easy attacks....and yes he is quite the fighter

Ramos was hot and cold, sometimes brilliant, sometimes atrocious. Spain had way more influential outfield players like Xavi and Senna. The truth though, is that Spain was the most complete team of the tournament and the entire team performed up to a standard that it was just going to be tough to beat them. And no-one could.

Ramos seemed like a great part of the team.... seems like I didn't have much to expect from him but he performed on my part.

In the first game, all of Spains backline looked shaky. I think it was due to nerves. from there on Ramos got better and better. He destroyed against Russia and was good in the rest of the matches. A great defender who has it all. And remember, he's still learning

The Legend
Why did it take so long to throw Mertesacker up front? As horrible as Germany's attack was, he couldn't have hurt.
