EUROGAMER Xbox 360 REVIEW

Excellent review

This is an excellent review and really captures the main point I've made in other forums about the difference between PES and FIFA.

PES is a great all action footie game that "PES is more like watching the highlights: a series of frenetic exchanges where the action never ceases." (See Eurogamer review).

FIFA is "like watching a ninety-minute match, one packed with jostling and failed attacks punctuated by the occasional moment of magic"(see Eurogamer review).

I also agree with the final point of this review that asks us to re-evaluate what "type" of football game we want to play rather than trying to pick between two similar games, because they really are not similar at all now.

It may be good, but if scoring is as hard as he claims then people just won't have the patience to play it.

I will, for me it's not totally about scoring, it's about build up and creativity, goals are just the icing on the cake.

When I first tried playing PES I really struggled to score but eventually I learned how to build up a good attack to get into great scoring positions to give me the best chance to score.

As long as the game rewards you for creating good scoring oppertunities by increasing the chance of the shot going in I'll be happy.

I beg to differ. If scoring is more of a challenge, more of a result of proper working of the ball, the end result is just that much more rewarding. It sucks you in more and you concentrate on the play a lot more than just pinging shots.
