This has nothing to do with with depth and skill., its just GEOGRAPHICS.

European teams only ever do well in Europe, and South American teams do well when its outside of Europe.

But also you got to mind that some point, Argentina wasn't a complete diaster and they played hand to hand with the host in an advanced stage, or who was expecting Ecuador to win over Poland and play hand to hand in a round of 16 against England? I guess that counts too.

I agree about Europe but considering a lot of the South American's play for European clubs it should be a different story.
