Extracting DB

I've just use the fifa13 regenator that worked just fine, but nothing changed in-game...still no changes.
So is this all correct:

- 1. Your Game / Data / db folder contains two files: fifa_ng_db, and fifa_ng_db-meta.
- 2. Those same two files have been deleted from your main game files (the data0.big file I believe).
- 3. You regenerated all game files following step 2.

It's a mystery, I don't know what else to suggest at this point. I can email you my edited FIFA 13 db files, and you can load them up and see if they work in your game??? But if your files don't work in your game, I don't see why mine would.

1) Exactly.

2) What do you mean ? I didn't delete the db files from the main folders, but from the db folder (the default one). The ones in the main folder are the edited ones :)

3) Yes :)

The two db files in the Game / data / db folder need to be there. Don't delete those.

Delete the original db files (with the same name) that were downloaded with the original game. Those two files are located in the data0.big file. You can access the data0.big file and delete those two db files using FM 12. After you delete those original db files from the data0.big file, regenerate all game files.

Fine. I moved the edited db files (fifa ng db & fifa ng db meta) in the data/db folder. Then, as you suggested, I opened the data0.big files with FileMaster12. What should I do now ? There are no fifa ng_db or fifa ng_db meta inside it. What should i erase ?

The files you placed in the data / db folder were extracted from the original game files. If you still have the original, unedited game files installed, those two files should still be in the data0.big file.

I know, but there are no fifa_ng_db files in the data0.big file, I even used the search function. I give up :)

Deus, might be time to back up a bit. Best idea might be to go back to your original default files, the files that downloaded from Origin, before you added the db and loc folders to your game. I always make backup copies of my main FIFA install files. If you did as well, copy them into your Origin Games folder and simply rename your current FIFA 13 folder as "FIFA 13 edited" or something, so that FM 12 reads your original FIFA 13 default folder and files.

Now open FM 12, and search the data0.big file. Click the file "Type" tab, upper middle of the program; it will sort all files according to type. The data/db xml file is about 30 files down from the top. The data/db database file is about 10 files from the bottom. Delete them.

Now exit FM 12. Copy and paste your db and loc folders in the data folder, open FM 12 again, and regenerate.

Unfortunately I didn't make a backup of my Fifa 13 folder. Later i will try to uninstall the game, then download and install it again from origin and follow the procedure. I'll let you know what happens...Stay tuned ;)

bangus,
as rinaldo`s DBM12 can extract the main database and local database, I wondered if you put the data0.big from fifa13 into the fifa12 directory, would dbm12 extract it ?

You mean for ease of use? Might, and should. I just copy and paste the FIFA 13 db files on my desktop and then locate and open them manually with DBM 12. After that, you can then copy and paste the edited db folder into your FIFA 13 main game folder.

Bangus, let's say I have to start from scratch. I've erased my edited db and' I've just re-installed the game from origin and i'm making a copy of its main folder.

I think I know what should I do, but if you could please tell me step step what to do I won't make any mistakes !

well what I meant was, from a clean installed data0.big you have to extract it first and DBM12 will extract it for you, but it looks for the data0.big in the fifa12 directory, so if you put the data0.big from fifa13 in the fifa12 directory
providing you have fifa12 installed, might help the people who can`t run fm12 etc.
I know once it`s extracted you can load from anywhere.

Do you already have copy of the FIFA 13 db files?

Make a copy of your original files once downloaded and installed! (H) When the new FIFA 13 game files are all installed, don't add your db files to the data folder just yet. You first want to go into the data0.big file and delete the fifa_ng_db and fifa_ng_db-meta files. Also, you know most people export those two files first, right? Those are the db files you need to place in the data folder.

After those two files are deleted, place the db folder/with files in your data folder, then regenerate. BTW, you don't have to regenerate every time you make edits to the db, only after you edit/remove files from the main game files.

Okay I get it. I never extracted the db files myself as I don't have the game yet, I just used a copy of the db files someone here uploaded.

Sorry but i don't understand something. To start from scratch I've erased my edited db, so I have no edited db ready to use. Should I extract the before mentioned db files ? Delete them ?, edit them. ? That's the point.

If you don't have a copy of the db files, extract those two files and save them before deleting. Those then become your db files which you place in the data folder.

Ok. I opened the data0.big file with DBM 12 but there are no db files. If you don't believe me i can make you a screenshot :) FileM12 doesn't work: the first time i had this error ( "Database not present in the BIG file" ), the second time it doesn't even start (even I try to uninstall it and reinstall) so it seems i can't use it. Any other way ?

If you did a new Origin install from scratch, those two files are there in the data0.big file. The game wouldn't download and/or run without them. You need to look closer.
