F.C. København Big Adventure (Bored)

Bobby

The Legend
Awhile ago I started a game with FCK and recently picked it up again, I'm doing pretty well (aided by Brondby turning totally ****). Aalborg are my big title rivals with Brondby fighting against relegation, even though FCK-BIF is called "The New Firm".

I'll give a brief rundown of my first season, then a more detailed account of the current state of affairs (3/4 through Season 2).

KB = Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, FCK II

Season 2006/2007 --
Honors:Super Cup [1] v Randers; Danish Cup [1] v Aalborg; Danish League [1]; Royal League [1] v Odense (DEN); Did not qualify for CL (beaten by Benfica); UEFA Cup First Round (Hamburg)
Transfers in: Dennis Hoegh (from Aarhus (DEN), $85K); Ailton (from Orgryte (SWE), $3.9m); Juan Pablo Rodriguez (from Chivas (MEX), $3.1m); Lars Kristen Eriksen (from Lyn Oslo (NOR), $575K); Paulo Wanchope (from Rosario Central (ARG), $1.2m); Krisztian Nemeth (from MTK Budapest (HUN), $375K); Dave Nugent (from Preston North End (ENG), $1.5m); Claus Pedersen (Free transfer) ++++ Total: $10.75m
Transfers out: None

I ended up with massive debt and a bunch of dead wood, so during the summer I was drowning in red ink and was forced to sell my best players, but I have some good young players and Denmark has an U-21 mandate in match day squads so it was a blessing and a curse.

Season 2007/2008 --

Honors: Super Cup [2] v Aalborg
Transfers in: Quentin Westberg (from Troyes (FRA), $170K); Santino Quaranta (from LA Galaxy (USA); $725K with triggers); Mike Jensen (from Brondby (DEN), $1.1m with triggers) ++++ Total: $2m
Transfers out: Tobias Linderoth (to Rangers (SCO), $1.7 after being cup tied); Paulo Wanchope (to Veracruz (MEX), $240K); Jesper Gronkjaer (to Olympiakos (GRE), $2.2m); Dave Nugent (to Middlesbrough (ENG), $775K with triggers) ++++ Total: $4.9m

Not exactly good transfer business, but it'll have to do. It's important that I cup tied Linderoth after hilarity ensued in the Champions League.

Current Squad (Apr 10 2008 in game time, July 29 2007 normal time):
Keepers:
14. Quentin Westberg (USA & FRA); First choice
1. Jesper Christiansen (DEN); Transfer listed by request, frozen out
33. Lee Langveldt (RSA); First choice for KB
21. Thomas Villadsen (DEN); In KB
31. Benny Gall (DEN); Retiring as player, Manager of KB
--. Fredrick Vang Larsen (DEN); In KB after loan return

Defenders:
2. Lars Kristen Eriksen (NOR); D LR, first choice right back
3. Oscar Wendt (SWE); D/WB L, first choice left back
5. Brede Hangeland (NOR & USA); DC/DM, captain, first choice center back, emergency midfielder

24. Nicklas Svendsen (SWE), D/WB/M L, second choice left back
25. Jamil Fearrington (DEN & USA), DC/DM, in KB
26. Nikolaj Hansen, DC/DM, second choice center back

Midfielders:
4. Hjalte Bo Nørregaard (DEN), DM/M C, first choice central midfielder, tertiary captain
8. Juan Pablo Rodriguez (MEX), DM, second choice central midfielder
13. Atiba Hutchinson (CAN), DM, first choice central midfielder
20. Razak Pimpong (GHA & DEN), AM L/ST, first choice left winger
22. Santino Quaranta (USA), AM RLC, auxiliary attacker
23. William Kvist (DEN), M C, in KB
28. Martin Bergvold (DEN), M L
32. Mads Laudrup (DEN), M C, in KB
39. Michael Silberbauer (DEN), AM R, first choice right winger
47. Mike Jensen (DEN), AM RC, auxiliary attacker

Attackers:
9. Fredrick Berglund (SWE), ST, first choice striker
11. Marcus Allback (SWE), ST, retiring, frozen out because he's a fat asshole and I hate him
12. Ailton (BRA), ST, sold to Palmeras but I have him until July
18. Lasse Qvist, ST, super sub
30. Krisztián Németh, ST, first choice striker, scores once in a blue moon, dives alot
36. Erton Fejzullahu, ST, in KB

I'm also USA manager but don't have a game that counts until June, I almost fell asleep managing them against the mighty Virgin Islands. I call up my 3 Americans and get a break for Copenhagen sometimes. (H)

So far I'm still in all comps, and leading the Danish League. I won't go into detail on the league because it sucks and Aalborg are the only other team worth crap.

CL Campaign --
2nd Qual. Round v Zilina (SLO): 3-1; 1-1 (4-2 agg.)
3rd Qual. Round v Valur (ICE): 0-0; 4-0 (4-0 agg.)

Group Stage with Real Madrid, Schalke, and Steaua
H v Madrid, 1-1
A v Schalke, 1-1
H v Steaua, 3-2
A v Steaua, 3-2
A v Madrid, 0-1
H v Schalke, 1-2
Finish: 2nd (8 points)

2nd Round v Werder: 2-2, 1-0 (3-2 agg.)
Quarterfinal v Rangers: 1-0, 2-1 (3-1 agg.); This is why Linderoth playing against Valur was important, my midfield was depleted, but so was there's and he was their last fit central player, but him being cup tied kept him out.
Semifinal v Arsenal (Apr 22)

If I reach the final I play the winner of Barca v Chelsea, I'm not confident I'll beat Arsenal but I somehow managed the easiest road to the semis possible, and got the best draw there. Part of my luck included Valur toppling Gala in their qualifying round game. Berglund is a monster.

I also have the Danish Cup QF against Esbjerg, and the Royal League final against Viborg.

I wrote too damn much. Damn energy drink at 11PM.

Lost to Chelsea, but I never really had a chance with the injuries that mounted up. Because of fixture moving it was my 5th match in 8 days :(. I went on to squeak by to win the league, won the Royal League and Danish Cup. Then the Super Cup.

I started a new season, a few new signings, USA U-20 International Josy Altidore was on, Morten Fevang another. The Brondby boss decided to try and talk shit even though I've yet to lose to Brondby, so I replied, beat them 4-0, and replied again.

Yea, back in the black. Stuggling a bit this term because Berglund got hurt during the 3rd league match. Nemeth and Quaranta can't carry the water like he can.
