Really? That'd be awesome news. Would love to see him in a competitive car. Really don't think Vettel and Kimi would work either. Kimi is a better driver for a start

Niiccooooo!!! :bouncy:

delighted for him, and pissed for Ricciardo (who's name was only correctly pronounced over the Ferrari radio :-D) ... Joe, your cousin delivered a very popular result by [beating Vettel all weekend and] delivering the first podium for an Aussie at home ... Mateschitz was incensed enough to threaten to quit F1 ... the appeal next month should be interesting ...

His name is "mispronounced" as that is the way he has requested it be pronounced.

He was bullied early on at school for having a European name when he pronounced it the proper Italian way. So he Australianed it up.

Podium finish for Checo Perez. (H)

Fantastic result for him after what happened last weekend. I think this will be the best Formula 1 season for him thus far.

I'm glad Guti was able to walk away from that flip.

Awesome result for Ricciardo. From 13th to 4th, including over taking his team mate and world champion (the over taking didn't take skill, but running so much faster did)...really good result. Wouldn't be surprised to see Seb want to change teams if this keeps up.

Checo started the race in 13th...got to be 2nd at one point but then everything went wrong. His brakes failed and was holding on to 3rd with 1 lap to go when he crashed with Massa. Now he's been penalized 5 spots for the next race for not staying within his trajectory. Whatever.

What's incredible is how he fought off Vettel and Massa for 2 laps with 'no brakes'. Boss.

The Legend
Really pleased for Daniel. He's popular locally because of the Earnhardt fandom (Earnhardt is a local hero), seems like a really good guy too.

In a sport full of polarizing figures, I'm yet to see many really dislike Shifty.

until the first Safety Car, this was looking like a perfect weekend ... I'm pissed now, though ... I really want to hear the official reaction from Toto and Paddy ...

nothing to do with Ricciardo, who it's impossible not to like -- so each time he succeeds, it's a very popular result ...
