Liked that we kept going, that we didn't just take the lead and sit back. But to be honest we have some way to go still. Our attacking game is still not good enough. I want more moves like the one that got us the winning goal. Ball down the wing, ball played in, one player (Mikey today) goes for the first post, more people coming forward in the center and bang, the ball is in the net. Arsenal are great at this. But their moves are much more controled than ours. You can see they have a purpose. It's what they want to achieve, while we seize the moment every now and then

Dudek - Solid but for the goal which IMO would have beaten any other keeper. 7
Finnan - Great to have him back, he's the Riise of 2001/02 down the right. 8
Hyypia and Henchoz - Wonderfully solid. 9
Carragher - Same as above, getting forward as well. 9
Kewell - Quiet enough but did well on a few forays down the wing and his trickery has Newcastle in knots at times. 7
Gerrard - Bit wayward with the passing at times but he's so important to us. 8
Hamann - Usual Didi. 8
Cheyrou - Two great goals, no other real influence on the game but it was good to see him back grafting late on 8.
Owen - Not great service, still lacking sharpness but Everton is all set up for him to kickstart his season. 7.
Heskey - Did well. 6.5.
Le Tallec - Good passing, good crossing but he'll be more influential in the middle. 7.
