Atletico's better overall defense goes both ways. It means Stegen is forced to make more saves as well as concede more goals. They're probably 2 of the best young keepers in the world (although I think Trapp is better than ter Stegen) but Courtois has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers period. Once ter Stegen gets a few years at a top club we'll see if he really has it. I like him more now after he cried at Gladbach's last game.

I think the most important stat are the passes, do you have a comparison with Valdes at hand? I think his ability to act as an extra defender and launch attacks will benefit Barca the most.
